God those are delicious. We also have cheese powder flavoured fries here. It's a local brand, but it has many locations elsewhere in the world. Some of the best I've eaten.

French onion is the heartiest, rich and tastiest soup I have tasted.

It's not my favorite soup, but it is certainly in the top five to ten.

Quite good.

Same for me. Not my favourite, but highly enjoyable. A delicious soup.

As for fried potatoes, I chose other, because my favourite would actually be classic chip-shop chips with just a little salt (maybe pepper). But I don't class those as plain fries, because fries tend to be thinner. Classic chips from a chip shop are much chunkier and... oh, my mouth is watering already.

for the frys thing, nacho fries with a lot of meat on it.

i'm not big on the spud though, even thought its veg and health.
my favorite starch is the noodle. not even bread, but the noodle.
or pasta to be more generic i guess. every shape, but especially thick udon.

udon with shrooms and tofu and any beef, chicken, pork.
onions go good in there too, and a spritz of lime in the broth and just enough of the bullion for flavor.

can be all veg sometimes too.

but if i'm gonna have taties, thin sliced new in real butter, au grautin is ok too,
or baked with all the goodies.

you know those fries, the ones in the fast food places, they're not slices, you only get that in the fancy sit down ones,
they're like instand mash, run through a kind of pug mill to make the shape, the dumped in the boiling grease to make it like a solid.

although they usually come made up and frozen to the fast food places. but that's how the ones they use are made.
i know some people like fried, even deep fried, if only it tasted half as good as it smells, it smells like flavor, but it just tastes like grease.

and salt doesn't cut it, unless you're a little furry creature and need lots of it. even catsups are not enough. some of those dipping sauces are ok.
but really the fry, even with the dip, isn't much of substitute for the real diversity our subconscious secretly hungers for,
and is never satisfied no matter how much more the we need, of the non-diverse sources we eat to much of anyway.

I always do it if it’s fries only

Waffle fries are delicious. Chick-Fil-A makes good shit.

That being said, I also really like a local sub joint's cheese and bacon fries. Those are delicious, too.

Chick-Fil-A is the best fast food chain. The nuggets, fries, salads, sandwiches, wraps, everything! The fries are the best part. They are equally salted, soft, fresh, and amazing!

Personally I like potatoes fried in duck fat.
