Those were different. We also had a pandemic response team that Obama set up that Trump dismantled. Plus Ebola is not airborne so there would have been no reason to take such measures.

Naive thinking that response team would have made any serious impact considering Chinas actions and the who to fuck over information.

China's actions do not explain why the US is doing so much worse than somewhere like South Korea. Countries that had some sort of pandemic response plan ready to go have been able to slow the spread a lot more effectively, even if they still have a few cases here or there.

Dismantling the pandemic response team was dumb, but if you were president, you could have fixed that. Then you would not need to be closing the borders every time someone gets a weird infection.
