Trump called Floyd's brother, so the president is taking steps to calm everything down and show empathy...

Floyd's brother about the conversation with Trump:
"It was so fast. He didn't give me the opportunity to even speak. It was hard. I was trying to talk to him but he just kept like pushing me off like 'I don’t want to hear what you’re talking about."

I'm sure there's a picture of POTUS giving a grieving thumbs-up and a wide grin of sadness while on the phone as well.

Ugh... even fuckin' Bush Jr could do condolence calls most of the time. All you have to do is let the person speak and let them know someone in the world cares that their loved one is dead.

I'm pretty sure a turnip could do it with proper coaching, but apparently not Trump.

I bet there are White House officials contemplating giving Donald pavlovian conditioning in order to make him more presidential. Would require them to detox Donald from TV/Twitter/Internet for a whole year or more first though.

I notice this hasn't been added yet so...:https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-says-postponing-g7-summit-020122476.html

All because he can't get them to come here on his own terms. Also because he wants Russia and a few others in. To be honest, adding Australia and South Korea probably wouldn't hurt, but I'd leave Russia and India out for now. Russia's too dictatorial, and India under Modi needs to show that it can behave itself.

I actually mostly agree with Trump here. Rescheduling during a pandemic is wise, and checking if the list is not somewhat outdated (which it is) even wiser.

As do I, though I wish it wasn't partially out of pique as well. I would like the G-whatever to remain democratic, however, and Russia and, sadly now, India don't fit the bill.

As well as the core members (minus Russia), last year's G7 included:

Australia
Burkina Faso
Chile
Egypt
India
Rwanda
Senegal
South Africa
Spain

These countries aren't in all the meetings, but it does show that inviting economically insignificant countries is a done thing.

Politics are not a black and white system. Ideas transmit from one side to the other. Trump like most republicans isn't all that much better than the democrats. Better, but only marginally so.

They all have a regrettable tendency to feel they're better than the common men they rule over, when the point of Democracy was to ensure that it was that sort of common person who represented similarly common people.

It's all for the cameras with Trump. Take those away and nothing of substance remains. I feel bad for Floyd's brother having to endure that, as well as losing his brother. :(

So your saying that the idea of geting the nat guard to shoot at people doing nothing came from me?

....no. That's wrong. I never would advocate for anything like this. I don't think fellow minded people like me would do so either.

What happened in the video took place in Trump's America. As the troops where shooting things at people who did nothing, they where lead by Trump.
