Honestly the shape and size of the buckle and the quality of the leather are far more important.

This said, who actually changes their pants often enough for this to even be a thing you think about consciously? And like, how many pairs of pants do you have that you can't just have one belt in each at all time?

I mean, I'm pretty sure people ordinarily wear different pants every day, or at least take off their pants to go to sleep

Belts are pretty expensive, seems like that'd be an unnecessary expense

But there is no reason to remove your belt from said pants every time you take them off. I only remove mine when washing and only because leather does not take well to a washing machine. Otherwise I'd just keep it tucked in even than.

Not really. At least if you know where to look. A couple years back I went to Greece on holiday and let me tell you not only are the sun and the beaches cool and the history fantastic but the leather goods are dirt cheap.

That's only true if you're okay with fishing your pants out of the dirty laundry to remove the belt prior to washing and if you have enough belts to go through a laundry cycle using one per pair of pants, though (or if you have literally one pair of pants that you wear for multiple days without washing, which, ew). Otherwise you have to remove the belt to reuse it.

Semi-decent belts are usually like $10 or more in America

Who washes their pants every single day? I mean I guess if you work as a butcher or manual laborer or something you might. But those pants aren't going to last you very long if you do that. You'll literally ruin the material and wash out the color. And besides good quality pants don't need to be washed very often at all as quality materials simply won't soak in sweat or anything like that.

Even $10 is not that expensive for something that's an investment that'll last you longer than the average car.

Hrm? I'm not saying you have to wash your pants every day, but I'd wager that most people would put multiple pairs in a laundry hamper prior to washing, and if you don't remove the belts, you would have to pull out the belts from that hamper prior to washing, whether you do that every week, fortnight, or whatever.
Anyway, this is kind of a pointless argument.

Which beats doing it every single night.

Which is exactly why it is perfect for the here and now, a time where any serious and pointfull arguments are going to involve thinking if we are all going to die horribly of the current plague.

Just thread it through a couple loops, either clockwise and anti-clockwise. Then carry it with you, hanging down. That way, if you need a belt you have one and if you don't, at least you still have a weapon of sorts.

That’s why you do the big silver-and-gold-and-brass belt buckles of the cowboys like me. And some good leather. I look sexy as hell in my cowboy belt that I made.

If your belt has a pattern on it, that pattern typically has a "top" and a "bottom", so you use that to orient how you put it on. Otherwise, I put on belts through the left loops first.
