Nah, its perfect the way it is. Nothing distracting congregants from the worship service.

Honestly, it is. Elegant, yet simple. Functional, yet beautiful. It didn't cost $5 billion, and doesn't look like a renovated office (or will be renovated to become one in 5 years). Not that churches that are renovated office spaces aren't valid, they're good for congregations that cannot afford a building of their own.

This is the theological equivalent of that time I tried telling my grandparents that having the TV on spongebob while I was doing my homework would help me do it better.

You shouldn't be searching for visual distractions in a church, you should be focusing on the message being preached, and on getting in touch with God.

Except that Spongebob isn't related to your homework. What would be a better equivalent is watching Dora the Explorer while working on Spanish homework. The main point of stained glass windows, statues, and paintings were to help the laity understand Scripture. You may argue that it has no place in churches right now, but I would argue that, now, it would serve to help children understand the Mass.

One church I went to few a couple years had these absolutely beautiful stain glassed windows and I would always get distracted by them. I can't remember a single thing that pastor ever said to me, but I remember those stained glass windows.

I mean, we're all only human. I have ADHD, so trust me, I know the struggle. But still. Its one thing to not want an utterly drab worship space. Its another altogether to want the medieval equivalent of the Las Vegas Strip.
