Take a lactate when you eat cheese. It will help you digest the milk proteins

Still doesn't change the fact that its various tastes and textures are generally awful and sickening in their own right.

Is this even the problem?

I don't eat hot dogs since I threw up the last one I ate (although that was probably 15+ years ago). Note, this is not a hot dog (it's an American hot dog and I eat these several times a year). I'm not allergic or intolerant of anything in a hot dog.

That proposal is at least worthy of -- if not being implemented -- at least a month-long discussion and a chair-throwing fight in the Lair.

Nor a hot dog based thread, i would suggest taking it to a thead that dealt with pork and or beef processed foods, but i dont think anyone has determined what exactly is in a hot dog.

Indeed. Never heard of a sea dog, though. Probably some restaurant innovating. Hot dogs are available from any (fish and) chip shop (which, you must remember, are ubiquitous in NZ... the standard set of corner shops is a dairy, a fish and chip shop, a bakery and if there's four either a liquor store or a hairdresser/barber... and there are a lot of corner shops in a suburb/town, and that's without the main drag/high street which will have at least one).

Of these options, Brie is best. However, my favourite is actually Wensleydale, which, if it includes cranberries, I can cut an entire block of up into mini-blocks and eat rapidly, as if it were a packet of crisps. I also do this with cheddar containing chillies (which takes slightly longer), or even with the Mexicana cheese (perhaps with half a block at a time). I will also buy a full packet of mozzarella sticks, or chilli cheese bites, and do likewise.

Bizarrely, I don't eat a lot of anything, but where cheese is concerned, this is something I feel compelled to do about once every two to three weeks.

I am surprised that so few people like Edam. For those unaware, Edam is the cheese found in Babybels. I also take a full bag of them and eat it like a packet of crisps whenever I feel the need for cheese.

Perhaps even more bizarrely, I actually look at other cheeses and do not even want to taste them, and I am actively physically repulsed by Gouda or Parmigiana.

Sounds like you're lactose intolerant. Stay away from soft cheeses and try hard ones, and your stomach should be fine. Or take a lactase supplement like Lactaid.

I have an aversion to cheese containing fungus (truffle). I won’t even tolerate a standard mushroom. But, strangely, I will eat truffle in chocolate. I think Parmigiana smells like sick mixed with unwashed feet.

There's no way to pick a best cheese, but just by itself I usually prefer the softer types or goat cheese. Big fan of Chimay cheese as well. Recently got into blue cheese, and so far I've had some amazing blue cheeses so far - also some really horrible ones.

Naturally you need parmesan at home. Great to have it on-hand when you're having spaghetti, etc.
