Throwin' down the gauntlet.
Florida Carry: We Will Sue Any Cop Who Violates a Member’s Rights
“Despite the well-established right, our members have been repeatedly victimized and deprived of their rights by various law enforcement agencies and their respective officers and deputies. Too many individuals in law enforcement throughout the state have harassed, berated, belittled, arrested, and even killed law-abiding citizens going about their personal business, for simply exercising their constitutionally protected right to bear arms.”

John Kerry enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve.[1] He began his active duty military service on August 19, 1966. After completing sixteen weeks of Officer Candidate School at the U.S. Naval Training Center in Newport, Rhode Island, he received his commission on December 16, 1966.

Navy officer, not that far of a stretch to say he never had any firearm training, but rather naval training.

Just gonna say, I think that what they're doing (in VA) is wrong; but I usually agree with what the liberals (vs the leftists) think about guns. Not really contributing just throwing in my two cents like a lazy bum.

I have yet to hear a logical explanation from an officer, in how a holstered or slung firearm is a threat, and warrants harassing someone exercising their 2nd Amendment.

Well A holstered firearm can still be a threat, it doesn't take very long to aim and fire a gun from holster. That being said, you still don't just assume someone who has a gun and holster is gonna try and kill you especially as an officer.

Well TBF its natural training even in my job field for airport security assume everything is a threat until you figure its not. so that's how the police are trained assume the person is a threat until they are not a threat.

It is in the manner of how an officer comes across when inquiring. Most times it's with cussing and conflicting orders as if their mind cannot comprehend that someone is carrying and minding their own business.
Don't get me wrong, I have more positive experiences with law enforcement, it is however those few that goes off unwarranted that leaves a sour taste.

It was on a swift boat though. I'm pretty sure you have to have small arms training to be on one of those.

I think this is more a case of him dumbing down his vocabulary because he thinks his audience won't understand. Like when geologists say lava instead of magma.
