Not a criminal offence, but companies design rules that customers have to follow all the time. There are so many news stories of people racially-abusing people on the New York Subway and getting banned from using the service. Even if something isn't criminally-prohibited, as a company you have to develop rules prohibiting people from doing things that inconvenience your other paying customers. Companies should do the same thing here. If an obstinate asshole refuses to close his legs or stop intruding into other seats when asked, he shouldn't get to ride for a certain period of time as a deterrence. Your other customers deserve better than to have to put up with this inconsiderate and selfish nonsense.

I am pretty sure that if the bus is full and someone is refusing to move and making a scene out of it they will be made to leave the bus anyway. That is already a thing that happens.

Now I know you don't ride NYC Transit regularly. They actually had to put up signs on all trains and buses telling people that assaulting drivers conductors, and MTA workers is a felony punishable by 7 years in prison.

Yes, I already stated as much a while ago, considering I don't live there. Again, I never saw anything like that during my stay and use of the system, nor have I had any issue regarding other systems of people immediately turning violent when asked to move.
