Have you seen that? That's never even crossed my mind as an issue - I don't have that preference and I don't think I've talked to anyone else that says they do.

Could you lift a 80lb lawnmower from the ground to chest height unaided ?
Do you think it's a reasonable thing for a 110lb 5'2" woman to have to perform ?
Or would you say that an 80lb lawnmower should be a two-person lift ?
What about a 120lb lawnmower ?

I'll admit that I might have a few unconscious biases with regard to height. My last two exes were both over six feet and at least a year or two older. I'm aware that I'd like to date someone who is taller than me when I'm wearing heels, but men will have an average of six inches on me without them, so... that's not really an issue. But the plural of anecdote isn't data.

Ever tried to go on a roller coaster?
It's a problem.

The only time it really came up was at a cooking class (knife skills) where the counters were set at a comfortable height for six foot tall men, and I had been given a 10" chef's knife to cut with. The instructor called me out on my elbow being out to the side and "flapping like a wing". and I asked if he had a stool or something I could stand on. Once he came over and literally saw that it was not possible for me to cut properly, and got me a box, my form was suddenly just fine.
Anywhere else its been a matter of dragging over a chair or step stool, or asking an employee for help.
It is, however, I would guess from my experiences, more socially acceptable to be a petite woman than to be a petite man. I wouldn't comment, but I know others have.An Alan Smithee Nation wrote:Big monkey gets bullied by a bigger monkey, so the take out their frustration on an even smaller monkey. Nah. Nobody remembers that song; it's all You Got A Friend In Me now.
I'm shorter than five four and have never been turned away from a roller coaster.
