According to ABC News:

Called a "Salute to America," the events will pay tribute to each of the nation's five service branches with flyovers from military planes and a display of two 60-ton M1 Abrams tanks and two Bradley Fighting Vehicles. The celebration will conclude with a 35-minute fireworks display, the biggest the nation's capital has ever seen.

So what is your take on this? Is it a political stunt? A show of military might? An honor to America and its veterans? As the tanks are rolling in, some are scared as they are too tall to fit under overpasses. Remember, this is a patriotic show! But on the other hand... 100 flights were delayed, the Air Force has to work today, and the fireworks are being moved for Trump’s speech.

It shouldn't come as any surprise that Trump, who openly admires several dictators, has decided to rip a page from their books, and have a military parade on a national holiday.

This was one of the little things that set us apart. We didn't need to intimidate our enemies with nationally-narcissistic parades of our weapons.

How inconvenient. However, it does show and express American patriotism. It is perhaps a celebration, a salute to America, or a show off of power, or a show off that Trump still cares about the veterans by showing he hasn’t forgotten their service.

I don’t like to think negatively, but it could be a stunt to promote his re-election. Perhaps we shouldn’t dwell on that too much and celebrate 243 years of the US?
