Slightly more evaluated: For the topic itself... I have heard of it before, but I don't think so? I mean, granted, there are people who tend to be a bit more bossy and just dominating towards everyone else, but it's not a hard category Alpha. It's just being called bossy, and that's about it. No one can be absolute Alphas where they rule over everything, or absolute Betas where they are meek over everything. It's a mixture, just like most things are in life.

A meek person can be put in-charge ("Alpha" by definition) and they can do wondrous things or lead well, and in the same way, a loud and boisterous person may not always have what it takes to lead.

Playing and averting the stereotypes, a muscular dude can be a timid sort of person, while a nerd can be an absolute dominator just because he knows his way around tech, or something to that effect.

As for non-humans like lions or other packs of animals, that might be another story. Like the alpha of a pack, or something to that effect.
