The Alt-Right hates the cops, and I don't think they would be afraid of a group that has gotten zero actual kills in 30 years of claiming to kill nazis.

But they have however managed to beat up random people with bikelocks.

What argument? What does what acronym one chooses to use have anything to do with a discussion about their actions as a terrorist organization?

What?

The article explains how members of the alt-right movement have organized into something most of us would call a terrorist movement if the perpetrators were not white and christian. According to the findings, these people, despite calling themselves an "alternative" right-wing group, appear to be nothing more than young neo-fascists who have adapted into 21st century life and have successfully influenced young people, including children.

My question to NSG is this: Is this the birth of a huge international terrorist movement? Will the world have to crackdown on these people eventually? And what can governments do to stop the resurgence of fascism for good?

My opinion is that the alt-right movement was going to become a terrorism organization eventually. From the very beginning, their beliefs were similar to 20th century fascism. In practice, they are fascists who pretend to be nice and concerned about the world, while leading young, frustrated men into committing terrorist acts. Under different circumstances, people would call them terrorists. To be stopped, governments must treat them like they treat radical Islamists and arrest the ones who play a pivotal role into organizing the whole thing.

Some quotes from the article:

You seem to not know what terrorism is. Yes there are some radical alt-right groups but most are just trolls/shitposters or strongly opinionated people who are otherwise normal. Yes there are violent ones but you can't seriously try to tell me that there are no violent/extremist leftists (AntiFa, for one) and you definitely can't tell me there haven't ever been leftist terrorists (French Revolutionaries, basiclaly any communist movement, etc.)

Completely irrelevant to the point.

Very possible, but I think the point was that people who use the term "alt right" don't have a clear label for it and it's generally just used as a shorthand to refer to people who believe ridiculous and/or reprehensible things. I.E. the crazy evil right wingers.

On that subject, it'd be cool if the OP could give us a definition for what THEY believe "alt right" means.

Fair enough, alt right should have a clearer definition.

My personal definition of it would be:

People who argue for extreme right wing ideologies (ie Nazism, fascism, ect).

International? No. World crackdown? Maybe. Resurgence of fascism? I don’t think governments can stop political opinions. Lord knows the internet can’t.

My opinion is that the alt-right movement was going to become a terrorism organization eventually. From the very beginning, their beliefs were similar to 20th century fascism. In practice, they are fascists who pretend to be nice and concerned about the world, while leading young, frustrated men into committing terrorist acts. In what way would you try to stop it? It could be from shit to meh given how well our policies have worked. Given how our policies have varied wildly you could be supporting outright Fascists bans, or war and I don’t think a war in Iran or Afghanistan is the way to go.

And I wouldn’t call them terrorists as the article doesn’t mention any violence, save for the unrelated case of Charlottesville. For all we know this is a very shady fascist militia.

Aren't you the same person who was arguing that left-wing terrorism is worse than right-wing terrorism, or do I have you mixed up with someone else? (There are an oddly large number of people with flags amounting to "gray background with black german eagle on them"...)

Some of them hate cops, but quite a lot of them have to square that cognitive dissonance with their "law and order" fantasies. "Blue lives matter" in one hemisphere of the brain and "stupid pigs won't let us kills gays and Muslims" in the other.

1) ALF has never murdered anyone, their actions are limited to property crimes

2) While animal liberation often coincides with left-wing politics, there is nothing about socialism/communism/anarchism which mandates animal liberation as a tenet of ideology

Well, as much as that's a crackpot theory right there (One i've never really heard of), i don't think that's really enough to classify people as nazis. A lot of the people who the nazis hate might as well say the same. Being against jews is not just a nazi thing.
