All right, we now have the first(and subject to change as more comes in from Wallonia, roughly 21% is in nationwide)Pan-Belgian projection for the Chamber:

N-VA: 24
Ecolo: 22
MR: 19
VB: 18
CD&V: 12
sp.a: 11
Open VLD: 10
PS: 10
Groen: 8
cdH: 8
PVDA-PTB: 7
DéFI: 2

de Wever's worst nightmare seems to be coming true...the parties he's flat out refused have become the only ones available for a coalition. Enjoy another 550 days of anarchy.

N-VA simply cannot form a governing coalition without MR, and that would involve de Wever swallowing his pride. If he'd won just a couple extra seats like the earlier projections had, he could've gotten Groen in, but now he can't put Jambon in office without at least one Walloon party.

Ecolo is in just as bad a situation. PS and sp.a aren't budging on the pension age issue, so the Ecolo/Groen path to government is even harder for me to predict. I don't think they'd take to filling their coalition full of Christian Democrats and Conservatives like MR and Open VLD. VB has a small but growing detachment of climate legislation sceptics and firmly supports nuclear power, so bringing them into the coalition would be fraught with problems.

Seems like the results are in.

Get the feeling the conventional parties once again lost votes to NVA (and to a lesser extent to VB) while NVA lost votes to VB.

Some different colors in Eastern Flanders. Blue, Green (in Ghent) and Yellow.

The region in Eastern Flanders where VB won also happens to be known as the East Flemish's "Marginale Driehoek" - the common stereotype of young guys there is people that drive old but heavily tuned car (often aggressively), listen to hard bass, drink too much and don't care all too much about what happens outside of Flanders. It's an outdated stereotype but...well...*shrug*

Here are the expected allocations for everyone now that all votes are in:

N-VA: 25
PS: 20
VB: 18
MR: 14
Ecolo: 13
CD&V: 12
Open VLD: 12
PTB-PVDA: 12
sp.a: 9
Groen: 8
CDH: 5
DéFI: 2

As Esternial said, N-VA's got a clear lead and a shot at forming a government without any Walloon parties if VB wants it. Extremism seems to be winning out with the Communists doing quite well, too.

I don't see it being that easy though, not with VB being the first party in the Flemish right to follow, and the only other real Flemish choices pretty much being MR's current coalition partners.

actually i just want to know when they can finally decide on the government this is keeping me on edge

Not for some weeks, negotiations take a while. N-VA could possibly rejoin the Swedish Coalition(so called because of their party colours), but they could theoretically cobble up an all-Flanders coalition with VB, CD&V, Open VLD, and Groen with a C&S agreement with MR giving a grand total of 89 seats.

As for a possible PS government....no real chance of a coalition since, as I said, their stance on re-lowering the pension age to 65 is non-negotiable, so only PTB-PVDA would likely join them with 41 seats counting both variations.

So, the anti immigration party VB is second biggest in Flanders.

The biggest group of immigrants in Flanders are the Dutch.

They clearly don't love us :(
