When and how did you find NationStates?

I believe when I got an IPad for school a few years ago I somehow found this site. I convinced my friends to play and we all moved into UCR. We did rp there for a bit and everybody’s nation died over the summer. I made a second nation which still lives and is my card center

I was talking to my friend from elementary school on the phone (we were in high school by this point) and I told her I was looking for a new game to play since I was taking a hiatus from ROBLOX. She told me about NationStates, so I joined. My first nation was founded in 2012. My nation was called Tiggerland. I played, but got bored after a bit and it CTEd. Tiggerland is now available for reuse if anyone wants to use that name.

Didn’t play for a while, but one day in 2014, I was home sick with strep throat. I was bored with ROBLOX and thought back to when I played NationStates so I decided to try again. I didn’t play much with this nation for the first few years, but when ROBLOX got rid of their forums (likely due to the fact that they couldn’t keep the spammers at bay). So now I’m trying to make up for about 3 years of lost world building.

"a bit" = 2-3 days?

I have 8 nations right now, though I'm thinking of letting one or two die, especially considering that at the start of last month I had only four. Each puppet takes about three minutes of maintenance on average, once or twice weekly, basically just answering issues on the ones I don't have in vacation mode and battling two random people, that's really it.

I had a nation called Klorgia for a few years. I was a lot less fluent in english, but it was still extremely fun.

After I lost my password, I left for ~year before deciding to return.

For me, it was 2005...I genuinely don't remember how I did, nor do I remember where I came up with the name "Vetalia". At the time, there was nothing with that name although I later searched for it on Google and found some obscure Cypriot clothing company with that name. Beyond that, all of these things are a mystery lost to the sands of time.

I'm much newer than most of you - I only joined in mid-2018 after seeing someone create a joke nation. I explored the forums and the site itself for a bit before thinking 'You know what? I'm going to make a nation myself!'

Blimey, that takes me back. It was 2011, and I found NS after searching for "country simulator game" or something like that. I came across it and it looked really fun. And so, I founded my first country - Felbah. Gosh, I was an idiot back then. Looking through my earliest RP experiences (I have to have been only about 13 by then), they never fail to make me cringe hard. I had a number of puppets through that time, but most didn't survive long. I created a new country in later 2014 called Gjulich, which had better worldbuilding, but still pretty janky. I think Gjulich CTE'd at some point, and I later came back and created Claanyad/Clányad, my first attempt at a properly worldbuilt country. That felt like a much longer time of my life than it actually was, as by the end of 2015, I'd CTE'd again. I went through numerous other countries after that, most not lasting more than a few months, and most of them being sudden ideas that would make me go "Whoa, I could make a country out of that! Hey, NS still exists! Let's go back there again". Here's to this one lasting longer, eh?
