You should probably talk to your GP about that. If it's too distressing, at least, have a formal diagnosis and perhaps a way to cope with that. I have severe social anxiety and can't go to concerts myself, and it's very distressing for me, I can't imaging how distressing it could be for someone who has sensory issues.

I mean, if I can avoid a (for lack of better term) trigger, I do. I just don't go to concerts, I wear earplugs to school functions where I know there will be lots of noises. I bring my earplugs and fidget cube everywhere in case of an emergency (such as a fire alarm malfunction in a store or a rowdy kid at a restaurant). My parents are very understanding so the house stays pretty quiet. I've learned to adapt over time.

That's good then. It must not be easy but if you've made it work for you, that's a relief.

Well, in my case, I chew so many pens that my coworkers have made it a meme that I eat pens.

Honestly kids or adults that bully autistic children have no respect for other humans.

Adult bullies are worse than kid bullies, IMO. An adult should know better.
Don't get me wrong. Kids can certainly be cruel, but there's still a window there where you can get them to change before they grow up. Adult attitudes and opinions are very hard, if not impossible to change, which makes convincing an adult that they are a bully and that bullying is bad is no easy task.

Aye, that happened to me at school. Not only did teachers seem like they didn't want me around, but they refused, actively refused, to fulfill their legal obligations towards special needs kids like me, so I was pulled out after Grade 3 and homeschooled. Any of you have trouble like that at school?

I have a little sister who goes through the same problem, but I don't want to dive deep into that so this thread doesn't get turned into a blog.

I wish you would have been there to vouch for me when I was in elementary/middle school; perhaps then I might have known some justice.
One of the reasons why I disliked the public education system (and why I'm thankful that my high school years were spent in private schooling) was the "zero-tolerance" policy which mandated that everyone involved with an instance of bullying, including the victim, be punished. I think that the policy was more meant to deter lawsuits, as opposed to ensuring that students weren't suffering every day for eight years without any hope for respite from the pain. But I digress, and I apologize if I was impolite. Please forgive me.

I was in one private school for pre-K through 6th, and another for 7th grade only before being transferred to public school where I finished high school. The school I was in for 7th grade was the worst when it came to handling bullies. I was called names, ostracized, insulted, had personal property damaged, had vicious rumors spread about me, you name it. I complained to the teachers and principal, but the closest thing to action they took was an assembly on why bullying is bad.
One of my bullies did get expelled after he sent a death threat to me via Facebook (and even then I didn't want to report it because I figured that they wouldn't do anything and that it would backfire on me). But honestly that was the only time I remember anyone getting punished for anything.
Crap like this is why victims don't go to authority, because 99% of the time, authority is useless when it comes to dealing with these kinds of situations.
