And if he does what I think he will he will piss off many in his own party perhaps convincing them to finally stab their base in the back and remove this dangerous man

No, they didn't before and there have been plenty of red lines that he's crossed. They'll stand by him or the voters will get rid of them. He won't be removed by extraordinary means.

Well, I would say what he's doing in regards to allowing furloughed employees go on the dole until the shutdown ends is evidence enough of a conscience, but I do understand.
