Not paying your troops is a particularly dangerous action.

The US government has a 6 month minimum of emergency money for the military. However any backpay will take upwards of 6 months to get a paycheck for.

So the not paying the troops isn’t an issue now. Though it maybe for ATC as they and the FAA will not be paid.

That’s even if the shutdown lasts remotely close to 6 months. I feel bad for federal employees in general though, I’d hate to work for an employer that can just shut down and leave me without pay for days/weeks at a time. This is like the 3rd shutdown in the past year, this childish garbage is aggravating.

Oh no the 6 months is for those who get backpay. Meaning that ATC, the FAA, law enforcement, and homeland security peeps have to work without pay. However they expect to get back paid for it

I doubt your going to have a government shutdown that lasts until then but with how unhinged Trump has become I wouldn't put it past him.

If it does last a long time Id like to see the IRS show leniency towards government workers and landlords have compassion but the IRS employees likely dont have the heart.

After two months of ATC striking the airline employees would go on strike, followed by the truckers, rail, and other transportation workers. Then the service and manufacture workers would strike bringing the economy to a grinding halt. At that point the world economy would start to collapse. Riots and revolutions would be widespread.
