CNN reported in May, that the McCains did not want Trump at his funeral. Former rivals and Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush had been asked to give eulogies, people close to both former presidents and a source close to the senator confirmed to CNN.

I'm now taking bets on how long these deep sympathies and respects last. My money is on Monday. By this time on Monday, Trump will have gone on a twitter rant about McCain.

I ironically didn't know much about politics when 8 and picked McCain in a weird class voting process(purely a in class thing) and gravitated to him because of his neat name and thought he looked cool.
10 years later, I've grown to deeply respect the man. He, alongside Kasich, have earned some of my deepest respect. He was a true American Hero, and it is truly sad to see him gone. I am disgusted at people's attempt to politicize this because he wasn't right wing or left wing enough for them, and it pisses me off...

I respect when he said he'd refuse to stop using the word gook. I respect when he kept crashing planes because he was a mentally deficient retard who was never good at anything. I respect when he contrasted being an Arab with being a "good man". I respect that time he voted against making MLK day a national holiday. And dammit, I respect that he tried to bomb just about every country on the planet. That man had some principles, much respect.
You're being really rude.

Man, what's up with people politicising the life of a politician? So disrespectful to the famously apolitical McCain.

Well, alright.
I didn't like his politics, I just find this cruel. I have deep respect for the man.
I do dislike all the things MeriZoc mentioned, but to lash out with vile hatred and bile is to me, inhumane, so soon after his death. It leads to the degradation of society to me. Celebrating his death, more so.

Vortiaganica: Lamoni I understand fully, of course. The two (Lamoni & Lyras) are more inseparable than the Clinton family and politics.
Triplebaconation: Lamoni commands a quiet respect that carries its own authority. He is the Mandela of NS.
