Wagneresque wankery, based upon stories about the murderous Norsemen being like the demons from the Christian hell.

Yeah, the horns do make them look cool.

The real Norsemen would turn out to be a disappointment to you, then. Their helmets weren't horned, but they commonly had absolutely fabulous hair. No, seriously.

That could be interesting to watch, but I imagine the premise will get dull after a while.

Maybe an episode where a Viking takes part in a bullfight?

I guess the popular show Vikings didn't have any of that? :p I've been interested in watching it, but all I come across are short videos and never whole episodes.

Given how that show is more or less situated in a historical setting, no horned helmets are to be observed. There are a lot of longships, though.

And a lot of sex, for the little I was able to gather. But since I have seen very little of the show, save for those short videos I spoke of, I can't speak much about the setting. I know there's the story that deals with Rolo and Gisla, which is set in France. And I know there are parts of the story that deal with Ragnar, Aslaug and Lagertha. I think they mention Athelstan (which for a short moment I thought was a mention of one of the kings of England), a monk, and that's pretty much it. Save, of course, for the scene where the bloody eagle is showcased.

I never watched it, so... I don't know. *shrugs*

They all talk about how much of a hazard it is, while I can think about is a drunk Viking that charges head on, while grabbing another one of his friends and use him as a battering ram.

Both of them can't feel any pain because beer.

There are legends of single Viking warriors being able to keep a whole opposing army in hot pursuit occupied because of berserker rage. Going berserk also tends to numb any sensations of pain.

See? People always say that the worst ideas are when you're intoxicated. I mean... kinda true, but adrealine and drunkenness will put you in a history book. :P

Though... I hope you really will leave the battle in one piece if that happens.

(On a side note, I played this Warcraft 3 custom game before where a hero is a... drunken Admiral. He will sometimes miss his target and instead slam the butt of his blade onto a head of an enemy, stun for 1 sec. He was also pretty OP because drunk guy with a huge-ass sword.)

Vikings also have a totally kick-ass justice system. Like really, they have court cases, legislations, the whole nine yards.

If memory serves, the phrase "the whole nine yards" originated in the US military during WWII. The .50 cal ammo belts that were used in aircraft were 9 yards long. Or so the story goes.
