I think those statues would still be very beautiful even without the genitalia.

I wonder if the subject of statue penises is a subject that really needs restarting in the metal thread.

Honestly, wasn't Metallica used once for torture by the US military?

And so was the Barney "I love you" song.

Now, subjecting anyone to Barney the Dinosaur has to contravene UN law.

But get the right prisoners, and Metallica may have been quite well appreciated.

Indeed it does not. It is I who should decide what gets banned.

Seeing mine populace as having enough common sense, I shall not ban a genre of music just because people would take
the lyrics literally.

Um... I'm pretty sure Therm was joking about actual heavy metals (mercury, lead, etc), not metal music with that quip.

No.

Also, if the argument relies on "government’s responsibility to protect society," then we should also ban government itself because it does the most harm to society.

Ban heavy metal? No way! We do have freedom of speech. Merely listening to the songs that have violent themes is no reason to ban them. If we did, we might have to ban video games, many movies and tv shows, sports and NationStates for suggesting violent themes. Just because someone sees or hears violence does not mean that they will practice violence.

With this still going on, let me also show you why it should NOT be banned: Symphonic Metal.

It's not death metal or violent metal like you are grouping the entire genre (even then, violent music won't make someone violent... within reasonable means, of course). There are good music like this that you will miss out if you want it banned.

One more here. :)

As a Pole, this would be the one metal song I would ban.

The jingoists ruin it for pretty much everybody else.
Capitalism, single-payer healthcare, pro-choice, LGBT rights, progressive personal taxation, low corporate tax, pro-business law, welfare for those in need.
Nazism, edgism, dogmatic statements, most of Abrahamic-derived morality (esp. as law), welfare for those not in need.
