An end of the world can come, but when that happens, nobody will expect it, I suppose? Or expect it but nowhere to run and get nuked. Or survive and go hunting Fallout-style, which sounds great in game, but will suck so hard in RL.

This is a date according to a constellation which is mentioned in the Revelation. And what's the Revelation about? Right, it's about the apocalypse, commonly referred to as "end of the world" (falsely). So it's no wonder some Christians think today the apocalypse occurs and this has nothing to do with craziness. It's interesting how these religious crazies contradict their own scriptures with these doomsday prophecies. I do recall there was a line in New Testament where Jesus explicitly states that nobody, not even him, knows the coming of Judgement Day but the Lord. Evidently it is meant as a reminder for the faithful to live every day as the last, i.e., to live a virtuous life so that should final judgement come today, they are not found wanting.
