Or fuck it, no one is main character, all 7 billion people in the world is a character and not the character.

No, some characters are more important than others. For example, on Star Trek named characters such as Kirk and Spock (Or Picard or Riker, if we're using TNG in our example.) seem to survive every episode, while the generic, expendable Redshirts (Although, in TNG, operations used gold, and command used red, as opposed to in TOS, where command used gold and operations used red. Science, as usual, used blue.) die indiscriminately.

There is always a frenzy of activity when you're close to leaving on a trip. So much to do, and this is not counting packing, which I hate.

Someone needs to invent a teleporter, so I can teleport my closet to my destination.

But if you have a teleporter, you can pack an overnight bag and just run home to get something else that you want. Or to take a shower in your own bathroom. Or someone should figure out "jaunting," the personal teleporting from Alfred Bester's The Stars My Destination.

An old flatmate of mine attempted that same gag with one of those autumnal bigguns and a mouse in winter. Quick bop with a shovel to put them out of their misery was the only sane response both times, of course.

Naturally I was impressed that the flatmate survived the first blow but you'd think they'd have learned from the experience.

Gave us our greatest practical joke ever. Spot was a tarantula who she'd a complete skin a couple times a year. We took one skin and buried deep in the dinning hall salad bowl. When the skin was uncovered in the bowl by another student, well, let's just say. Much hilarity ensued.

I can't guarantee the safety of the spider but I did just evict the mouse by the tail, it might have gone on to live a long, full life.
