Screwed over enough people for that to be a real possibility, yes.

Though then this broadcast would effectively have had over a hundred billion characters then... well, works good enough for me.

Let's include all critters, down to the first single-celled microbes.

No, some characters are more important than others. For example, on Star Trek named characters such as Kirk and Spock (Or Picard or Riker, if we're using TNG in our example.) seem to survive every episode, while the generic, expendable Redshirts (Although, in TNG, operations used gold, and command used red, as opposed to in TOS, where command used gold and operations used red. Science, as usual, used blue.) die indiscriminately.

We're all extras in an extra stupid film.

Erm... you're partially correct. We're not extras. In fact, we're the main characters, albeit I'm the protagonist. Also, we exist inside of a (surprisingly long-running) TV show, called Swaglord's Bizarre Adventure.

But if you have a teleporter, you can pack an overnight bag and just run home to get something else that you want. Or to take a shower in your own bathroom. Or someone should figure out "jaunting," the personal teleporting from Alfred Bester's The Stars My Destination.

Please don't. Even though I have particularly strong arachnophobia, I don't want you to do it.

Also, you seem particularly cross today. Is something wrong?

Be vigilant, Khali! You mustn't let that spider cause you harm. After all, spiders are generally Chaotic Evil.

We here at Balk industries have created a teleporter, unfortunately the prototype was lost when one of our workers thought it would be funny to go back in time and fuck some shit up.

One paradox universe he created was what happened if Hitler and stalin were married.

Nuclear apocalypse in Prague due to unforeseen shopping tragedy.

That and a soviet invasion of Western Europe.....but thats besides the point.

An old flatmate of mine attempted that same gag with one of those autumnal bigguns and a mouse in winter. Quick bop with a shovel to put them out of their misery was the only sane response both times, of course.

Naturally I was impressed that the flatmate survived the first blow but you'd think they'd have learned from the experience.

Gave us our greatest practical joke ever. Spot was a tarantula who she'd a complete skin a couple times a year. We took one skin and buried deep in the dinning hall salad bowl. When the skin was uncovered in the bowl by another student, well, let's just say. Much hilarity ensued.

I can't guarantee the safety of the spider but I did just evict the mouse by the tail, it might have gone on to live a long, full life.

It was late November and the cold snap of 2010 so probably not, but you never know!
