I was 13. I was looking up something about yanderes, I was likely bored, and Vultasia's factbook appeared upon my screen. I read it, thought it was nice.
Being a huge history nerd, I knew I'd love this game, especially since I had already had an OC who was the dictator of a country called Soyouso. Well, outside of NationStates they're a war god, but I made them human because I didn't wanna godmod in roleplays (though I was too shy to actually go to the forums until this year). The war god ended up instead being Flippy from HTF whom I was super obsessd with at the time. AKA the bear on the flag. ...I was 13 years old and in my "I'M YANDERE AND I HAVE AN EVIL SPLIT PERSONALITY DON'T MAKE ME MAD" phase at the time, okay?

And that is how this clusterfuck Soyouso happened.

Hm, I'm not certain. It was in 2007, or so my profile says, and I was in college then, so I could have been working on some kind of project, or perhaps using this to stretch my writing muscles. Although that's more of an answer to why I started using it and not how I came across it. Fate? Luck? Coincidence? In all likelihood, I was just bored and browsing around for something to do in between studying and sleeping. Don't like parties, not good with women, so why not make a nation? I'm pretty sure that was the impetus for many a real life nation.

I got roped into it by three mates on xbox, they wanted to do a whole rp region thing in which would slowly turn into a world war thing, I decided because at the time I was a major idiotic communist and weeb I'd make two nations, my first was a communist Poland from the Cold War, then I made this and had the history of this nation based on an alternate Muv-luv/Schwarzesmarken history in which West Germany united with the East and Schmidt was incharge of it for a while the Beatrix Brehme became leader.

Then it kinda spiraled out of control and I've lost count of all the nations I've made on here that are even active. So yeah.

I, somehow became interested in a game in which you build your own country. I tried several sites before, but none had the community nor charm which NationStates does and still has. Now I'm stuck here with great acquaintances OOC and the ever-expanding form of entertainment that is the NS General Forum. As well as interesting RP for whenever I have the time.
