100% confirmed it will not happen. Worry not though, the Social Democrats will likely come last or second to last in this election, so not too many reds to worry about.

Whales as a whole are threatened, but some whale species are more endangered than others. The type of whales the Icelanders and especially the Faroese kill aren't usually in danger of dying out.

IMO I'm not quite sure if Pirate Politics can actually be used to run a country. It is a good concept don't get me wrong, and direct democracy could work in a small country like Iceland (assuming it's in similar style to Switzerland) but correct me if I'm wrong, it seems like Pirate Parties are one issue parties (civil rights etc, not all lot of anything else).

I'd say calling them "one issue party" is a mischaracterization. They're fairly big tent when it comes to economics, yes (though not extremely so, mind you), but keep in mind that "civil rights" is a huge category. They'll be forming government with 2 or 3 other parties too, so its not like they're going to be ruling by themselves.

A couple more polls came out yesterday, both of them with the Independence Party in the lead. Sadly for Wolfmanne, the Social Democrats have been consistently in last place, so perhaps Icelanders are neither intelligent nor self-respecting? We shall see.

The Pirates, Left-Greens, Social Democrats, and Bright Future have announced they plan on forming a coalition after tomorrow's elections, and the polls are backing them up on it.
