What's the point of managing to make every french T.V chain stop broadcasting if the english are still doing it?

Because the Americans and Brits don't care about French law. They're here for the viewers and ratings, no matter the cost. When French channels try this, the CSA shuts them down pretty hard, as it did to some channels who reported wrong information in January.

No, actually.

Just last week, 244 people were killed in a single action by terrorists over the Sinai peninsula. And I'm sure in Nigeria Boko Haram has conducted actions with a higher toll than the latest Paris attacks.

Not to mention attacks such on this scale were about a weekly occurrence for the people of Baghdad for a few years.

Yes, and Christianity (okay, some of them) still does these things. Remember 'The Lord's Resistance Army' of Kony 2012? Remember 'Westboro Baptist Church'?

These are such 'uncalm' things that are still present in christianity. To say all of christianity has calmed down is debatable, but indeed, mostly, christianity is a bit more peaceful now. I think islam will calm down too within a few centuries. No matter war or any such stances. I think it goes in periods per religion, but that is controversial, so I'll just let that down there.

Christianity and Islam are not the same religion. Hell, they're FUNDAMENTALLY different outside of some Abrahamic ties so I find this continuous comparison to be unnecessary.

And I'm not saying this to say either is better or worse. It's just a fact. Not everything in one religion is true in the other.

And what's making Islamic terrorism a thing is the Wahabist movement. Little else.

The thing is, they're not doing this for basic survival. They are possibly doing this out of religious purpose, which has a purpose that transcends that of animalistic attacks for necessities, such as food and territory.

It might be. But the methods they use are very similar to those animalistic attacks. The reasoning may not be exactly the same for why they would commit these attacks, but then again, what is play to the cat is often death to the mouse.

Police didn't want reporters using their cameras to show police positions. If the attackers are using media to get a heads-up about police operations and movements, a gag order stops that.

there was a pretty famous case in america where there was a guy barricaded in a house who managed to hold the police for hours, almost like he knew every move they were going to make. then they realized the media had helicopters over the house and were reporting the police every move and he was just watching the TV.

By ISIL. Yes. That is true. But we're already fighting ISIL on their 'own' 'soil' now, and there's not much that which can be done about it, except being more alert and not going to Paris this very sincere second.

By the way, has there already been new news about the ... deceased people?

It's alleged that CNN reported that hostages in a live hostage situation were secretly texting the authorities or whoever to get info out.

It's further alleged that the hostage-takers found this out, because it was being livestreamed literally everywhere, and started killing hostages because of it.

CNN is now culpable for the deaths of those hostages. They put their lives in direct danger.
