It doesn't work that way.

Why do you inspect the balls at the beginning and then give them back to the team afterward? Frankly, I don't see the big deal with "Deflategate" (a lazy term that accurately reflects the absurdity of this zeitgeist). Aaron Rodgers doesn't really think there's an advantage. Hell, Brad Johnson did it back in SB37. Really, I don't know why there isn't a wider range, why don't we make it like baseball where you can tweak certain parts of the equipment to player feel?

"Deflating the ball does give a team an advantage," says materials scientist Ainissa Ramirez, the author of Newton's Football, a book about the science of football. Ramirez says the slightly softer football improves the grip.
"Particularly during that game which was very rainy, it's hard to hold the ball, it's hard to catch the ball," she says. "So by making it a little softer, it's easier to catch the ball."

Ever play football? , a soft ball is easier to catch.
Colts would not have won, does not mean pats should be excused for cheating.

Aaron Rodgers, a fellow quarterback in the NFL, doesn't see the big deal with the psi of balls he makes his living on. Gotta say, this changes my opinion. Aaron Rodgers is about as unbiased as it gets.

Aaron Rodgers also said nothing of the sort. From what I read, it seems like he wants the upper psi limit gone, not the lower.
