How did you come up with your nation name?

I had some Sam's Cola sitting right next to me at the time SOOOO my nation was named SamsCola in honor of Wal Mart.

On a site I'm called silverstar, so I was going to use that but, I then found out that it been use. And because silverstar comes form a RP, warriors, wich about cats in clans. So I just use one of the clan name, Steelclan. It work. Sorry if this is poinless. ^_^

LyNx was a username I had on a forum a long time ago. Just Lynx didn't sound right for the name of a nation, so I added an e at the end.

The one I made before was Stuff Land. I think it just randomly came to my head after being frustrated about everything else being taken.

In a computer game I played (Escape Velocity) it was what I had named my spaceship. Of course I had spelled properly then (Sage, not Saige). How did I come up with my spaceships name? I have no idea.

Another EVer! I am from the AmbrosiaSW boards, way back in the day! As is our Cogitation, now I think of it. Good to see someone from the old country.

"Tsaraine" came about because my username on the AmbrosiaSW boards was "Shade", which sounds cool when you are fourteen but less cool when you are sixteen, and so I had to think up a name for my nation. We'd been studying the October Revolution in History class, and "Saraine" was the name of a country in one of Tamora Pierce's books, so I put them together and made Tsaraine.

In my half-assed Tsakh language it's derived from Tsakh-raï-neh, "Tsakh-ruled-land". But that's a retrofit and not one that works very well, to be honest.

In the fall of 2002, I had begun playing SimCountry, because could no longer play Earth 2150 at school. Even though I had settled for the most part on SimCountry, I kept looking, and someone on the SimCountry forums pointed me toward NationStates sometime around April of '03. My nation name on SimCountry was something like the Oregius Imperium, because I grew up in Oregon and had a strong interest in Rome and it's social (and military) order. Well, on May 5th, when I was creating my first nation, this one, I apparently was into Dragons. (I have a great love for mythological creature, you can guess my favorite.) I can remember trying different variations of Drakonia (which was by then taken), probably even tried stuff like Dragonia, and in the end you can see what I settled on.

Pevisopolis. It was a name I come up with from a nickname of mine from a few years back, and Opolis, for it to be a city. Which really makes sense, because my nation is supposed to be something of a large commune (although my population is 2.486 Billion ). Because of the population, I suppose it's more of a confederacy of Communes...

The Errinundra Plateau is one of my favourite places in Victoria, Australia. It is a beautiful cool temperate rainforest and much of it is now protected by national park.

Way back on Christmas Eve 2002 my nephew introduced me to NS. I was hooked from the start. I created my nation there and then but didn't have a map handy and got the spelling wrong. I'm happy that I did, because my nation is more important than RL.

Well, my nation's ideals and it's name is loosely inspired by one of my favorite manga and anime series "Fullmetal Alchemist". Honestly, I don't like my hobbies (more specifically anime and manga) to interfere with school-related stuff. However, since I was in a rush (teach got us started with our accounts but with 15 minutes on our hands) and felt that the setting and "political" issues the story fleshes out wasn't too silly, I figured that a post-republican democracy with a iron-fisted motto would fit perfectly with my main ideas of creating a nation.
Thus "Amistris" (intentionally misspelled) and its motto "Survival of the Fittest" was born.

How did you come up with your nation name?

Brutland and Norden:
Brutland: I thought I was being original, but I found out a few months later that my subconscious got it from the NS FAQ!
Norden: This nation was meant to have a Scandinavian character, so I mashed up the name of two Nordic nations. (Guess what they are.) And, yes, I found out that Norden indeed exists, it's a city in northern Germany, in the state of Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony)

So what's yours?

It's the maiden name of my paternal grandmother. Well, it's the slightly changed version they gave my family when they got off the boat from Italy.

I came up with the Country Sapian and many other countries a long time ago, and now they are featured in a book im writting. Some of the other countries are im my region: Planet of Rodnyei. Rodnyei being the planet that Sapian and other countries are on in my book.
