Well, the most that happened was that we got a foot and a half of water in it, and the mold was un-fucking believable. I felt kinda guilty for a few months afterwards, though, since we had a two-story house. All of my friends lived in one-story houses, so unless they brought something with them when they evacuated, they lost all of their shit, while my stuff was safe and sound in my upstairs room. But during one of the storms in '08 (forget the name), it tore off a chunk of the roof off of the roof right over my grandma's bedroom.

I was visiting my grandparents in 1998 when Puerto Rico was hit by hurricane Georges. It destroyed the Island, tore it in two so I think I understand you and your friends. I was so scared, I hope I never am anywhere near a hurricane hitting a place.
