These thoughts are sexual. If a heterosexual male masturbates, does this not involve him objectifying women within his mind? How do we know that this won't lead to worse consequences later on? If he can masturbate and therefore objectify fantasy women, how long is it before he objectifies real women? How long is it until he rationalizes and excuses date rape? Where does it stop?

I dunno about "needing" it, but it's nice and engaging in the act doesn't hurt anybody, so it's not like it really matters.
