FBI memo on "aliens".

Just added to the FBI website, apparently.

An investigator for the Air Forces stated that three so-called flying saucers had been recovered in New Mexico. They were described as being circular in shape with raised centers, approximately 50 feet in diameter. Each on was occupied by thee bodies of human shape but only 3 feet tall, dressed in metallic cloth of very fine texture.

So what's the opinion on it? From the believers I've heard that this pretty much proves the existence of something other than human which visited this planet. From the skeptics I've heard that it was probably either a joke memo, or that the Air Force investigator was being half-ass about his job and getting his information from an unconfirmed source.

It's either a joke, or this is possibly the greatest government scandal of all time.

It starts with "The following information was furnished to SA by: [REDACTED].

So the following write-up could've been taken from a crackpot, just as easily as it could have been taken from Air Force/FBI personnel who were at the scene.

Frankly, I don't understand why the government would cover this shit up for 60 years and then release it just because of a FOIA request.

They have had this file up on their site numerous times and numerous times they have taken it down, for no apparent/given reason. Everytime this surfaces it causes some stir, but its honestly old news.

Meh, not sure I care whichever possibility it is. Probably either throwing a bone to believers or just a joke memo. Still, April Fools was 11 days ago. If they release pictures, I'll believe it a little more.

No one would dare come near Earth. We have nukes, crazy people who fight over crazy stuff, can't handle the sight or thought of Aliens, want control over everything even if we have to destroy everything. Not to mention, we have Earthquakes, bad weather, and crazy diseases. Not only that, but we have this weird stuff called religion, politics, Trigonometry.

Anyone else find it a bit sus that there has been an insane amount of 'UFO' sightings lately (on youtube a few weeks back there was sightings appearing every few days) and movies with Aliens? etc?
Edit: It also just dawned on me that most of the sightings involved 3 UFO's flying in formation, Sounds kind of similar...

Insofar as the source is concerned, evidently the FBI trusted whomever gave it to them enough that they would keep this document classified for so long.

NASA took the extinct life on Mars theory seriously back in the 1970s. I've got a memo that I'll try to scan one of these days and upload about the supposed face and pyramids. It concluded that they were natural phenomenon, but nevertheless the fact that they bothered to investigate the matter so thoroughly just shows how serious the subject is taken.

welp im not much interested in roswell

but

this memo was 3 years later but decades before the story about it being space aliens got traction.

so while the guy was not an eye witness to anything and the guy he was reporting on was not an eyewitness to anything, where would this idea of space aliens have come from? it wasnt a story going around at that time.
