Surprised Casten swept with that big of a margin; race was supposed to be neck and neck.

I don't think I've ever imagined something funnier than Donald Trump trying to fight for control of the Presidential limo.

More presidents should get into fist-fights. If we replaced the presidential debates with WWE-style wrestling matches between the candidates, the US could single-handedly erase their national debt.

"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

Which would you rather have? Two old men shouting at each other for over an hour? Or two old men beating the holy fuck out of each other? America loves violence, so why not give it to them?

Hence why I thought she'd perform better than, say, 20%? The Progressives in Congress didn't rescind their endorsements iirc; which is surprising given the scandal + rumors from Capitol Hill staffers that she is an absolutely nightmarish person to have as a boss.

See, now I don't like this. There's two major problems with this.

1. Witness here isn't a witness, she's relating the account another staffer told her. There are a million things wrong with this and it's not something that would stand up in court. Its all hearsay.

2. I've spent the last 20 minutes looking at picture, design, and even concept art for "The Beast". In every one there is a pane of bullet proof glass between the driver cab and the passenger Compartment. How the hell is Trump, with his tiny little hands no less, supposed to have punched through bullet proof glass and grab the steering wheel?

Republicans have been calling this a clownshow from the beginning and the Dems just struck up the music with this witness. Fucking why you stupid bastards? (by which i mean congressional Democrats)

I'm picturing a giggling Donald Trump shouting 'shotgun' and leaping into the front before anyone can stop him.

Plus if this video is from January 6th, that doesn't look like "The Beast" to me.

This is incorrect. According to Federal Rule of Evidence 801(d)(2), her testimony regarding Trump’s statements would be admissible in a criminal case against Trump. It would absolutely stand up in court.

And to be clear, the testimony about what Ornato told Hutchinson he saw/heard is indeed hearsay, but still likely admissible in a criminal trial, for example by way of rule 803 (1)

Granted, I'm not a lawyer, but I read that entire thing and I found nothing that that from my understanding would constitute an exception to the hearsay rule. 98% of her testimony is literally her saying what she heard someone else tell her. the only thing she directly witnessed was a discombobulated SS agent.

I don't think Congress has the same rules as a court does, but I'm still reasonably certain that witness doesn't get called in an actual court room.

Weird, the article says he did "Trump then got into the presidential limo, known as “The Beast,” with Secret Service Special Agent Bobby Engel, the head of the president’s protective detail." It's possible that's an error in the article which would indeed change things, but it's also probable that video is from the wrong time-frame.

They don’t vote in large numbers.

Might call for some deep reflection and determining how to convince them to vote, eh?

The literal premise of Idiocracy.

The premise of Idiocracy is that stupid people beget stupid people and will outbreed smart people, who delay having babies so long they become unintentionally childfree.

At the same time, the premise of Idiocracy is that "a very stupid and nepotistic president will hire the smartest man on Earth as soon as he learns one has been identified".

It is a strange, strange film.

More importantly, however, any physical fitness requirements might stop aged individuals like Trump, Sanders, Clinton, Biden etc. etc. from trying to become president, thus allowing the larger part of the electorate to feel like the politicians are more interested in what the world is like in twenty years' time (since they will expect to still be alive). So, in this sense, unironically, yes.

Trump has normal sized hands; James Comey said so.

Funny story, actually, my brother's playing basketball a while back and either he or his friend makes a joke about my brother's having small hands. A bit after this, some random kid who heard the joke gets closer to my brother and says, "Wow, you do have small hands".

Kerwa wrote:TIL Trump is actually Mister Fantastic from the fantastic 4.

I'm not sure elastic powers would help one get through bulletproof glass. Or do you mean to imply that he stretched from the backseat of the limo to the steering wheel? Because before this bulletproof glass thing that was my initial reaction, too.

That being said, was the claim that he placed hands on the steering wheel or merely that he tried to?
