From the looks of it alone, I would go for Skylines first, then Stellaris, then HOI4. But this is all purely on looks and from memes and gameplay that others have posted. Unfortunately, I have no first hand experience but I like to think they align to my personal preference. I'm a bit of a city building person at heart, even in a RTS game when I'm going to be utterly steamrolled.

I'm also one of those folks who have heard a lot about something, but never tried it before. His knowledge came mostly from watching others play, or memes. ^^;

(I know there is a Paradox thread, so.. whoops, sorry! I actually didn't know their games were on sale until like at the last 4 hour.)

-----

I'm also back to playing Warcraft 3. The 1.21 version, one that is untouched by Activision-Blizzard. I can't play online, but single player is more than enough, and the AI are mostly competent even in customs.

BREAKING NEWS

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is set to be rebooted in 2023 with a "new, darker storyline", although no word on when it will launch yet. It may launch for 2024 in Europe.

What is known is that none of the characters from the old game will return.

I've been playing Star Citizen, and despite its current technical state, gross monetary practices and lack of content relative to their ambition

God damn it hits something different. The seamlessness of going from dogfights in space, to landing people planetside to conduct a mission whilst you shoot off and haul some goods around is something else.

Still wouldn't recommend people pay for it though.

I think it kinda says something when I didn't even know a playable state existed.

Just unlocked "Kansas" in WoWs. That's one chunky boy... but DAMN, she's powerful if played right. Those 16" rifles hit like a motherfucker up close, itÄs so funny to see themy fast BBs panic. Just came up on a Richelieu... he tried to brawl, just for Kansas' armor to casually eat his salvo, and then unloading all 12 guns for 2 citadels and change.

Oh, and with the fitting module she has a range of 27km - without spotter plane. Served up 3 citadels on enemy CV at 31km, hands down my favourite WoWs moment ever.

I'm going to play it, and also I'm going to use it to make some screenshots, as always.

Cities Skylines is honestly one of the most confusingly addictive games I have ever played.

I just wish you didn't have to spend 90% of the time doing road management, and tracking down mods that make that somewhat feasible to begin with.

Yeah man, I feel like the only downside to the base game really was cars. Then again, living in DC I can at least attest to how bad people drive. Maybe they simulated drivers too well?

Just figured out the industrial district I started building in minecraft during lockdown 1.0 is entirely useless.
After about 30 seconds, it floods my entire (massive) sorting system, and if I run more than a quarter of it for more than 5 minutes at a time, my PC just can't cope and freezes.

I've spent so many hours on this. Why didn't I pick a useful hobby? :lol2:

Anyone else think Starfield is going to be some kind of janky Fallout in Space game because theyre still using the creation kit to make it?

Hopefully not since they have delayed it a few times and its "allegedly" running on an overhauled version of the engine.

They still need to move onto another engine though and hopefully Elder Scrolls VI, when it comes out in 2030s has a new engine.

The problem really is that Creation Engine is one of the few that lets Bethesda work how they want to work. They've been using basically the same engine since Morrowind because it lets them use the iterative process they love easily, and they probably don't want to give up the workflow model that has (correlatively) proven to basically print money. I imagine they are doing a full move to CE2, but that's just me speculating, and if they do we're still going to see Bethesda JankTM but as they work with it (keeping in mind that there have only been, like, 3 games on it and one was basically hamstrung by netcode), it will probably get better.

Not that I'm a Bethesda stan or anything, but Starfield is interesting to me and I sure hope my ponderings pan out.

Been playing Sniper Elite 5 a lot over the last few days, got it on gamepass. Its very fun, though very janky at times, the movement is odd, i find i get stuck on all these tiny little invisible walls in the environment, somethings are placed awkwardly when it comes to interaction (some ladders, lootable items etc) but thats not the end of the world.

But my god is it soo satisfying to kill nazis in this game and its genuinely tough too on just medium difficulty, especially the survival mode. Ive tried being stealthy in most missions but i usually end up going guns blazing eventually. But thats still soo much though the numbers of germans can be overwhelming as fuck in that approach.

Im trying to be as blind as i can about the game even though granted they have not put out that much promo material yet other than a few brief behind the scenes things.

But i love sci fi and i really enjoy Bethesda games so i hope its good.

Also i watched that summer games fest not E3 thing, well part of it anyway and one of the things that caught my eye was the new Aliens game, Dark Descent which is a strategy game where you control a squad of colonial marines vs aliens, rogue androids and other threats. You got different classes, level trees, equipment with your own base etc etc, it basically sounds like XCOM aliens edition so i really hope this game is good as that sounds like it would be right up my alley.

And it is made by the devs of the Battlefleet Gothic Armada games and i love those, especially the second game

Three Hopes demo is pretty lit. Really hoping that I'll get the chance to pick the game up when it finally launches. I'm avoiding support conversations and plot stuff outside of the handful of available battles so as not to spoil myself on the main stories.

How do you have such restraint? Every time I’ve tried to do something like that with a game I’ve always given in and looked it up.

Shot dopamine receptors I figure that it's more exciting to see things as they happen rather than try and dig for info before the game is out. I had way more fun jumping into something like Ashes of Ariendel or Shadowkeepblind on launch than I did playing other games where I already knew about half of the content due to leaks. I guess I just keep that in mind with new games now.

Plus, I just have the most fun right now running around and murking bad guys with my favourite units in their Academy Phase outfits. I can wait for the main story that way. Hell, I still have some stuff to take care of with the game its based on.

And an actually pretty neat looking new minecraft game

There are also a bunch of other stuff from the Xbox reveal thingy on today but you can all look that up yourself.

Wow, looks totally like a modded FO4 visual-wise. Propably going to eat a ton of hardware and is buggy as all *** nevertheless. The scenario doesn't appeal to me tbh, and bethesda being bethesda I'm not exactly filled with hope and excitement.

Nevertopia wrote:Anyone else think Starfield is going to be some kind of janky Fallout in Space game because theyre still using the creation kit to make it?

They're still using that buggy nightmarish mess? And there I hoped they'd have turned the page. Also one can only imagine what utter ****ery is going to top monetizing mods in FO4 and the whole 76-desaster. My hopes are low.
