I allied the Mamluks and Albania.

Ahhh, well there's the problem. Firstly, if you can get the Plus 1 diplomatic relations advisor, it makes it easier on you. Secondly, ally with Poland (Hopefully he hasn't rivaled Hungary), if possible ally Hungary as well (If Poland doesn't take the Personal Union with Lithuania, I suggest restarting). Lastly, move your units to where the Otto army won't instantly attack them and proceed to siege the Otto provinces until allies arrive. Rinse and repeat until victory.

The Ottomans are hard to fight against, especially as Byzantium in EU4.
EU3 was doable, though, I've found. Succeeded into reconquering the Justinian imperial extent in around 1453. I had a pretty big Constantinople of almost 1 million people, too.

The Ottomans are hard to fight against, especially as Byzantium in EU4.
EU3 was doable, though, I've found. Succeeded into reconquering the Justinian imperial extent in around 1453. I had a pretty big Constantinople of almost 1 million people, too.

Okay, I have started a new game as Byzantium, now to follow some advice.

Get Poland as ally| possible, but not yet.
Get Hungary as ally| not possible anymore
Get a close ally (Albania, Wallachia, etc)| just need to improve relations with Albania.
Declare war| not yet.
Merge with close allies's army| not yet
Drive out the Ottomans from the balkans| not yet
Edit: Poland rivaled Hungary.

As long as you have Poland you should be fine, if it doesn't go well start the game again and try again until you win.

As long as you have Poland you should be fine, if it doesn't go well start the game again and try again until you win.

I usually restart my game till I get the perfect situation of Poland and Hungary not rivaling the ottomans but not each other and Hungary rivaling Venice. That is usually when I can get both on my side.
