Hey, does anyone know any metal groups, which music is influenced by Native American culture? So far, I have found Nechochwen, and I quite like them, but are there any other groups like that?

(I got into metal fairly recently, and as of now, I like to listen to folk metal the most, as I am also interested about folklore, and culture.)

Well that's just lyrical influences because Chuck Billy is part Native American.

I am fairly new to metal as well. Love " Steak nr 8" "Amenra", "Cult of Luna" and "Deem Index". But last one is really unknown. I only know them because the spouse of a friend is the drummer.

Cult of Luna and Amenra are both really good. No fucking clue what the other two are though. If you like those bands I mentioned then check out Neurosis, Isis, Sumac, Oathbreaker, Rosetta, and Celeste.

Cult of Luna has one of the finest examples of a literal wall of sound. Just ten minutes of absolute mayhem.

Tbh, it might be just me, but I am not too interested in Norse metal, because I like to explore more obscure metal, like already mentioned Native American metal, for an example. (Not sure, of how obscure some of those songs are, though, but still...)

I second Rosetta. They have some truly awesome stuff, I need to listen to more of them. And this is coming from someone who usually cares little for the whole drone/post-metal/atmospheric sludge type sound.

Cult of Luna has some stuff I enjoy too. "Cygnus" is actually rather epic. Makes me want more space-themed stoner metal.

No, no; I agree. Norse Metal is insanely overrated. There are some damn fine tracks about Thor, Valkyries, Valhalla, Ragnarok, Vikings, etc. - don't get me wrong. But the fact that there is just so much of it just gets tiresome after a while. The "muh Heathen pride" stuff gets real old real fast, which is a real shame because most Nordic metal bands seem to be all about that stuff (especially Swedish bands, even Sabaton has a song about Swedish Pagans and covered Twilight of the Thunder God by Amon Amarth - which is the best cover of anything ever made, btw).

I figure it's mostly a heritage thing, and as my heritage isn't Norse it just doesn't do anything special for me to hear about the exploits of the Norse Gods or Viking raiders. Like if the song's good then the song's good, but I don't get the appeal myself. IMO, Vikings are the most overrated theme in Western Media.

The veteran Stockholm death metal band Unleashed, a band known for composing songs about Vikings and Norse paganism even before it was cool as fuck, pretty much release concept albums about a post-Ragnarok future these days. Surprisingly original, yet true to form.
