Finished First Season of "You're Under Arrest" and the specials, movies and then on to the 2nd and 3rd seasons. It's a good show.

Also today I learned that the VA for one of the characters also voiced Satoshi (Ash from Pokemon). Said character is a Trap, leading to my new head canon, Ash grows up to be a transvestite policewoman.

I find it sort of disappointing how a late 90s buddy cop anime from japan completely outdoes the current pro-LGBT push in western media. I mean I'm not opposed to the current trend of more LGBT inclusion in western media but Futaba Aoi is better written and better integrated into the cast then most western Trans characters I've seen. She's part of the cast and she just happens to be Trans. Sure there's the occasional joke about her having a dick (Its a comedy after all) but for the most part she's just another policewoman.

There are ways to watch it without netflix.

I tried hunting but it seems most of the pirate sites are infested with pop up crap now. If that's the future of piracy then i'm happy to see it die.

Well, Japan has historically been uncaring about sexuality (Until Western contact that is), I guess with the advent of animation, they'd probably have an easier time showing LGBT stuff, much like how the West does.

Though, the downside is is that Japanese society tends to view being LGBT as something only kids and teens do, and as an adult your expected to be straight, but eh, give and take.

I haven't read it either, but it's a light novel adaption.

Clearly Nadeko Snake arc in Bakemono anime should've been at least an episode longer so banter between Alalagi and Kanbaru could've been retained seems to be my opinion after being halfway through Nadeko Snake in book.

I liked it from the start tbh. The only stuff that bugs me in LoK is some of the canon shipping is kinda really painful to watch.

The action and plot is fine, which are the main reasons most folk would want to watch a show like that in the first place imo.

Going purely from watching monogatari a ton, yeah Juuni Taisen definitely has the hallmarks of his writing. He tends to emphasise aspects that people usually don't bother paying attention to in this case the character backstories over the traditional stuff like...fight scenes.

Can't blame folk for not enjoying it though, show seems like it needed a bit more time to build up the characters or play out the fights. But I've been content watching it.
