I've been reading a manga called Dien Bien Phu. It's not Cat Shit One but it's also a...unique...take on the Vietnam War. A bit odd really in the way it switches from kawaii-ish cartoony thing to a gory cartoony thing. And it's full of political monologues and infodumps from some egg-shaped Green Beret.

Sounds a bit jarring tbh.

I like oddities so I can't complain much.

Watch it. Also read the Manga. They differ significantly and while similar events happen in both, they're often handled from a different angle and they're both brilliant.

Anyone know where I can find the Pyrophoric Cult (Border 5) bit of Ghost in the Shell: Arise? I've looked pretty much everywhere, but I could only find part one on Youtube, and on that the actual video is squished the corner of the screen next to a background wallpaper thing, presumably to avoid getting taken down for copyright or something (there's probably a better term than my crude description, but whatever).

I felt the Soul Society is where it got shit. Everything before that was concise, fluffy fun. Everything after was way too drawn out and more badly drawn.

But Soul Society was very well paced and had some of the best art and animation in the anime/manga.

It also introduced a lot of (Formerly) interesting characters, did a ton of world building, and showed how good of a writer Kubo could be (Could be, he only made one other good part of Bleach, and that was the starting part of The 5k Blood War).

I just finished episode one. Sold from literally the first minute.

This morning I finally finished all of Naruto. All 220 episodes (canon + filler) along with the 4 OVAs and 3 Naruto movies more or less in chronological order. I'm ready for Shippuden now. So basically, I watched around 180 episodes over a year ago, lost interest in continuing and picked up right where I left off starting this year until I got finished. I don't forget anything, so I don't feel the need to rewatch anything.

I'm on the fence on whether I should take on the sequel series, at 500+ episodes, I'd need to watch upwards of 3 episodes or more a day to spend less than a year on it, I might not be able to do it.

Keep in mind that it's slower paced and the writing gets lazier and lazier and the series goes on.

I've been watching K Project. It's pretty good- I'm on to the second season now. However,

it really bothers me that virtually no acknowledgement is given to the fact that the main protagonist came within a hair's breadth of handing a magical superweapon over to the Axis Powers. The fact is that Weismann must have been cooperating to some degree with the Nazis in order to get the sort of resources necessary to carry out his experiments and to have an observer from the Imperial Japanese Army visit his research lab. And then there's the fact that he had a Japanese military officer visit his lab, despite what he said about only wanting to make people happy.
