Granted, I am pretty much hooked on Overwatch at this point, but I just take whatever they give me after I level up.

I spent $25 (Singapore Dollars, so... around 15 USD?) on Clash of Clans once and I told myself I'm not paying for microtransactions unless I know I am getting it, and I'm getting it permanently and not with chance.

It's still difficult to resist the temptation, mind you.

Different genres though. I am not sure you can even compare cross genre meaningfully.

But as far as DOOM goes I think that if you can than it's easily comparable to the original Mario or Tetris as far as its longevity, quality and impact on future games goes.

I honestly don't think I'll ever give Star Citizen the official release like with No Man's Sky. They'll just give little updates while quietly fading away.

That's the thing though, Star Citizen has a game. That mini-universe small server thing they had is basically a multiplayer version of freespace, they just need to give it a quest system and NPC's.

There's a game there, they have 2/3's of what they promised, only missing Star Marine, they just need to lock Roberts in a closet and get on with it. Microsoft had to do it for Freespace, someone needs to tell him to fuck off and tell the team to release something by a specific date.
