There are a lot of NSers; and surely not a small number in there also happen to be interested in the arts in some way. Some of us are only mildly so; some are drawing as a hobby; and some are already spending time tearing their hair out to find new ideas for professional artworks that would help feed themselves. What we can agree upon though: Art is very meaningful to us all.

I found myself surprised that there isn't a thread like this to cater not only to artists showcasing their art, but also those looking to be in touch with other artists as well. So I'm addressing that issue by creating this "Artists' Corner", also for those who don't usually go on any site other than this one. Come join, show us your artistic skills - regardless of tools or methods, lay bare your feelings about art, help one another out, and find out the experiences of other artists - be they professional or hobbyist.

And always remember, there's an artist inside you or me somewhere.

I'm planning on doing writing. Anybody have any good ideas for science fiction piece ?

Depends on the sort of science they do. I've seen many writings like this with varying degrees of interesting to depressing to disturbing to plain odd.

They could simply be studying plants or they could be infinitely more sinister and experimenting on aliens.

Hiya fellow artists! I've had a strong interest in art for a long time and love working in all medias: coloured pencils, charcoals, oil pastels, ink, watercolours, oil paints and clay.

I bow to your feet Sensei.

My experience with digital art is pretty minimal as I haven't invested in any supplies or applications, but I'd love to get more involved in it - though I have done some work in Photoshop and Adobe Illustrater, and found it fun, but challenging.

Do you use mice or do you have a tablet?

Right now I'm working on becoming better at drawing/painting realistically, experimenting with my comic/cartoon style, and getting better at digital drawing. Besides that, I love to design logos and fonts!

When I get around to it, I'll probably upload some art, both old and new.

Looking forward to that.

How extensive is your design collection, how much skill would it require, and would one need special tools? I'll help if possible, and I have some experience in sewing if that helps.

Mostly dresses and bags, some other stuff in there too, like jackets, coats, swimwear, a few accessories. I'd post drawings but I'm reaaaallly protective and paranoid over them, so like email only. I don't really NEED to make working prototypes, I'm more concerned that I've got the ideas in my head but I'm a rubbish drawer (digital is even worse omfg) and would eventually like to make at least 3D models so I could make patterns. If I had a sewing machine (which I could get one cheaply enough, once I get back to work) it'd then be no problem to convert a pattern into a functional garment. That's the easy part.
