Bearing in mind that Moffat has admitted that the show is based on ideas he had for the Fourth and Fifth (as a child), as well as the constant allusions to the Seventh, not surprising.

My first encounter with Doctor Who was with the Eighth Doctor back in 1996 or 1997. My English teacher was educated in London and occasionally showed clips of the classic series and we would write about the episodes. I started watching the new series a few years later in America.

though I didnt know about the mottaf part. but again its always scary when you like the same shows your parents liked when they were your age.

Great Episode. Rory's dad is brilliant. Awww Alistair had a daughter.

• UNIT: WHAT WAS THAT?! That wasn't the return of UNIT! That was 'some people in tactical gear with a secret base'. There was nothing UNIT-y about them at all.
• Okay, the Babby Brig was nice, but she didn't do anything. I know that RTD treated UNIT as if Guns made them intrinsically bad, but saying 'We'll make them nice by making them scienc-y' was not a good idea.
• Who were cube mouths?
• What happened to the people on the ship?
• "They've analysed everything to attack us in the perfect way possible." LOLGAS. They could've done that in the first few months and had an even better effect.
• I do not like the new UNIT's visual change. They've gone from beige, to threatening black with a dash of red, to faceless black with more black and a hint of threatening anonymity. All they needed to look awesome would be to fix the berets which were moulded like a crock of shit.

That's all I can think of atm.

Have to say not impressed with the new UNIT. Still good epsiode. Also is it just me or did he leave a whole room of people o the ship when it blew up? Only prson they showed shuttled back through the wormhole was Rory's dad. The others were still in the background when he set it to blow.

No. They really didn't do much of anything in the episode. Much less get their ass kicked. The episode would of worked just fine if UNIT wasn't even in there. Honestly it looks like they were just shoehorned in there so they could say, "Hey look at this we brought UNIT back!!"

No, she stopped travelling with the Doctor at the end of S3. She then went on to work at UNIT, appearing in episodes 4-6 and episodes 12-13, as well as a few Torchwood episodes. As mentioned above, though, she did leave to work freelance.

I liked the episode, and, surprisingly enough, I loved NUNIT, but I think that the whole cube thingy was solved a bit too quickly for my like. I mean, it was a long time of waiting to see the "ancient storytale of the Time Lords" just so that the Doctor sonicked the controls and restored everything.

I also liked miniBrig, although I DEMAND MARTHAAA

Should have ditched the useless fluff that took up 95% of the episode and focused more on the Time Lord boogeymen.

Managed to watch some of Mercy, though. It was pretty mediocre, which was disappointing.
