I haven't seen any of it yet and probably won't, but I've been getting word that supposedly more people aren't liking Amazon's take on the Tolkien legendarium than there are people who like it. It is getting bad reviews and its full of problems, like Black Dwarves and other characters who should instead be ethnically European like in the books, and many other problematic creative decisions being made- that might make it into a total disaster. It isn't looking good for Rings of Power.

This is setting up to perhaps not be the faithful cinematic representation Tolkien universe fans were hoping for. So long to any LOTR or Simarillion derivative projects. Amazon is "blowing it" on the license like Disney is regularly said to be doing with Star Wars.

How rotten does a production studio have to be to be able to ruin the LOTR-verse? I am greatly saddened.

We are re-watching the Last Exile anime series with a new generation of family.

So the Amazon Prime series: Rings of Power- currently has an audience score of 34% whilst it has a critics score of 87% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Would it not be a fair conclusion that people who've seen it so far- are saying that it is bad, whilst there is a conspiracy going on from paid professionals and Hollywood insiders and the like; trying to upsell what is bad to people in claiming that it is good? People hoped that it would be faithful to Tolkien's universe and canon, but it appears that it isn't.

I can't connect with that show. Leans too hard on Roiland's frantic energy. Obviously that is not a universal problem, more of a me problem.

Except the wall people. I'm absolutely riveted by the saga of the wall people.
