NS Convention ?!?!?!

I've had the idea, on and off for years, of getting together enough NS-ers to have a convention. Yes, I know, we are all over the planet speak different languages, etc. But....what if we could somehow begin it? Perhaps have one in the US, one in Europe linked by satellite? C'mon, you audio/video/communication geeks could figure that one out, no?

Attendees could set up a booth showing off their nation, maybe get into costume for it.

Thoughts..........?

I assure you, you'd get the Mods with police batons, Max Barry wouldn't show, most nations wouldn't give a crap, and the rest would kill each other. I don't see it happening- too much money for a free game.

I might go, provided the convention was in-town and I had enough extra money to fund my booth.

The Mods would have no jurisdiction outside of this website; Max might not show at first, but when it grew and/or he had a new book to promote, then you could count on him being the star of the show;most nations wouldn't give crap, true. But there's dozens who would and it would be a start; nobody's going to die. Just like any other venture, start small, grow, get sponsors/advertisers, and before you know it we're leasing a 10,000 seat arena. Can anyone say "Trekkie?"

well I be dammed! someone finally had a decent plan for all us NSers to get together. although it IS a slightly disturbing idea.....

The creative juices are already flowing. I might showcase a model of my capital and big things coming up for my nation (hint hint Mektar Space Elevator) and possibly make up some sort of traditional art or cuisine, the cuisine making ample use of spices.

Now now, let us not jump to conclusions. Auralinia's flag has a slightly darker shade of red than Sarasai's flag.

It certainly would be a lot of fun, but there are so many obstacles to pass to make it happening and I don't think most people would use $500+ on doing this convention.
