Is it bad that the only time I died in the remastered version of ME1 was to a Thresher Maw on some random planet?

They've got me a couple times so far. Still had to struggle with the Mako controls a little.
Also I call bullshit on their acid spit. That stuff is like a homing shotgun, don't know how you're meant to dodge em all.
Still, kinda got into the groove, the last one I managed to take down with only a little damage.

I have died a couple times in other places, struggles with the cover system and some particularly aggressive enemies have caught me off guard once or twice (playing on Normal).
Liberal use of the quicksave function has saved me a couple times so far.

Curious to see what's in this ~8gig patch when I boot it up later.

I actually agree with you on that acid spit... I thought I was the only one who found it weird the spit followed you. No matter how hard you dodge it still hits.

Also I was wondering why my game had to update even though it literally finished yesterday. So that's just a patch?

Well, there's your problem right there: don't use the Mako versus thresher maws. Jump out and gun them down with weapons.

But if you're committed to playing lame like that, don't forget the Mako has a jump button. Very handy if you feel like you can't evade with wheels in time.

Finished ME1 last night and I have to say I really enjoyed the game. I honestly thought the last Saren boss fight was going to be hard, but nope he got stuck on one wall and got a easy kill on him.

After Amazon completely fucked over my release day delivery, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition has finally arrived. Now all that's left to do is to resolve the total civil war that my mind has descended into, my earlier proclamation of how I would play almost immediately fell apart after I said it.

I just finished it tonight actually. Was pretty easy for me, not cause of bugs, but because it turns out throwing up a max level barrier and going ham with a shotgun is absolutely OP. By the end I was one tapping geth left and right.
Just started 2 and I see

The cutscenes for
the battle of the Citadel
are dope forever.

Throughout thought I had this weird sense of deja vu when it came to bugs I did encounter. Nothing too serious, most common were :

- companions just not following you and eventually teleporting to your location when you get too far ahead
- buttons not working when hopping out of the Mako too fast (resolved with a quicksave/load)
- backing out of a conversation or loot box and having Shepard facing 90 degrees away from the camera for about 10 seconds
- Husks running around in circles

But when they happened I kept feeling like I'd dealt with them before in the original. It was almost nostalgic.

9/10 - it's ME1 but better.
My biggest gripe is the stupid fatigue system and the stupidly slow walk speed. I'd be constantly running about everywhere with my gun out cause combat sprint is slightly quicker, and I think lasts a bit longer.

I've still got it. Haven't played in many years and I've still flawlessed the Keeper mission. Now I'm looking forward to seeing how effectively I still remember the maps of the side-quest worlds without consulting the wiki.

Meanwhile, I can't remember what I had for dinner last night.

Halo: Reach was... Definitely something. I am once again playing Legendary with some skulls on (not LASO, ahaha), and it too was also pretty difficult. The plasma pistol is a must have, I really recommend it.

Game-wise, New Alexandria is an awesome place, and I really would love to visit it, or see something like that. I'm a sucker for huge cities, Halo 3: ODST really scratched that itch.

I also love how there is a Fridge Brilliance trope of sort whereby Halo: Combat Evolved was canonically easier because by that point, the Covenant has used up some of its best soldiers, and in CE, you ended up fighting the reserve forces.

Reach has got to be my favorite prequel out of any game series. Everything just played out so smoothly with that game.

You know it is kind of weird now that I think about it. For being such a futuristic setting, little of the Halo storyline actually takes place within cities. Most of the story takes place either in the deep wilderness or within different isolated military outposts. I wonder what human culture is like within the Halo universe when everyone isn't living in fear of a covenant attack, it's fun to speculate.

Oh yeah, totally! Which also just gives me more inspiration and stuff on writing stories set in big futuristic cities. I know the books tend to go over those places a bit more, but man, it would be fun to free-roam in those cities, preferably all before/during/after the war.

This might be a hot take, but I think Metroid Prime is a better prequel (to Metroid 2 and Super Metroid, if you were unaware) than Reach.

So I just finished Overlord on ME2 and I have to say it's my most favorite DLC so far. Some parts of the DLC felt like a horror game.

Also can we all agree that Archer is the worst brother ever in video game history?

I'm very, very sad. The days of challenging thresher maws on foot truly does seem to be over. Previously, maws would shoot one glob at where you're standing, and because it took a bit of time to travel, the player (if not the whole squad) could always generally stay ahead of it by constantly strafing. Now the damn things launch shotgun blasts at the squad. Can't go forwards, backwards, or sideways.

That being said, I do love how the new maw fights work and how the Mako feels. It's simply going to take time for me to grieve over my old BM strats,
