They've got me a couple times so far. Still had to struggle with the Mako controls a little.
Also I call bullshit on their acid spit. That stuff is like a homing shotgun, don't know how you're meant to dodge em all.
Still, kinda got into the groove, the last one I managed to take down with only a little damage.
I have died a couple times in other places, struggles with the cover system and some particularly aggressive enemies have caught me off guard once or twice (playing on Normal).
Liberal use of the quicksave function has saved me a couple times so far.
Curious to see what's in this ~8gig patch when I boot it up later.

Well, there's your problem right there: don't use the Mako versus thresher maws. Jump out and gun them down with weapons.
But if you're committed to playing lame like that, don't forget the Mako has a jump button. Very handy if you feel like you can't evade with wheels in time.

I just finished it tonight actually. Was pretty easy for me, not cause of bugs, but because it turns out throwing up a max level barrier and going ham with a shotgun is absolutely OP. By the end I was one tapping geth left and right.
Just started 2 and I see
The cutscenes forare dope forever.the battle of the Citadel
Throughout thought I had this weird sense of deja vu when it came to bugs I did encounter. Nothing too serious, most common were :
- companions just not following you and eventually teleporting to your location when you get too far ahead
- buttons not working when hopping out of the Mako too fast (resolved with a quicksave/load)
- backing out of a conversation or loot box and having Shepard facing 90 degrees away from the camera for about 10 seconds
- Husks running around in circles
But when they happened I kept feeling like I'd dealt with them before in the original. It was almost nostalgic.
9/10 - it's ME1 but better.
My biggest gripe is the stupid fatigue system and the stupidly slow walk speed. I'd be constantly running about everywhere with my gun out cause combat sprint is slightly quicker, and I think lasts a bit longer.

Game-wise, New Alexandria is an awesome place, and I really would love to visit it, or see something like that. I'm a sucker for huge cities, Halo 3: ODST really scratched that itch.I also love how there is a Fridge Brilliance trope of sort whereby Halo: Combat Evolved was canonically easier because by that point, the Covenant has used up some of its best soldiers, and in CE, you ended up fighting the reserve forces.

Reach has got to be my favorite prequel out of any game series. Everything just played out so smoothly with that game.
You know it is kind of weird now that I think about it. For being such a futuristic setting, little of the Halo storyline actually takes place within cities. Most of the story takes place either in the deep wilderness or within different isolated military outposts. I wonder what human culture is like within the Halo universe when everyone isn't living in fear of a covenant attack, it's fun to speculate.
