I’ve often wondered if even game moderators are privy to [violet]’s identity. Likely not, as I doubt anyone beyond other administrators knows for certain. Moderators, both game and forum, aren’t likely to be able to confirm who [v] is beyond telling us what we already know. Even if they themselves did know, they wouldn’t tell us and that’s completely reasonable for the sake of privacy and confidential information.

Regardless, as I understand it, [violet] is in some way connected to Max Barry. She herself isn’t Max Barry, but she at the very least is close to him and knows of him IRL. Not really thinking wife/girlfriend so much as I’m thinking of close friend, confidant, etc. [v] was put in charge by Max, likely, so it would make sense that Max would have some history with her to be able to trust her with his site

That's always been my interpretation as well. What's also true is that [violet] has been around for a long time, since at least October 2002, which would really seem to add support to the idea of it being someone Max knows personally.

But ultimately, we won't ever know until someone tells us, which I'm not thinking anybody will, at least anytime soon.

That sounds like a scholarly interpretation of this ancient text.

Glad to hear of that. Whilst purple hues are some of my favorites, it's a decidedly odd and unhealthy hue for skin, given it may well denote lack of oxygen or someone absolutely raging.

One of the first threads I ever read on NS in May of 2005, and convinced me to stay off the forums for a while was the notorious "[violet] = Max Barry?" thread in technical. The archive starts at page 2, why? It was Nervun who warned Violet, and a great day of injustice and mod abuse it was. Should have been filed under "trolling" not flaming, and been an unofficial given Violet's many years of otherwise rules-abiding behaviour. #violetdid(almost)nothingwrong

If you search up [violet] in the boneyard you get the original violet nation.
