Due to NS++ using 3rd party information (info taken directly from NationStates servers) Firefox will not allow it to be signed.

There is no way to work around that, and the only thing that can be done is if you download and install the Dev version of Firefox.

Or jump ship completely. Waterfox, a fork of Firefox, currently has no plans to remove support for unsigned extensions. I use it now, and there's very little that is different from Firefox. You can't really tell them apart very easily.

I'll pass. I'm not installing an entire freaking new browser for one extension. If you can, please eventually fix this. Thanks!

Everyone I've heard says it's impossible. Even Eluvatar has spoken on the matter- though I don't remember his exact words. You will have to move to another browser to use NS++. And if you install Waterfox or Firefox Dev/Nightly, you'll barely notice a difference from Firefox. In the end, it comes down to how much you want NS++.

Your only work around would be to try and talk the Firefox people into rolling back the updates that force you to sign add ons. Otherwise, that change in policy on firefox's end is causing the major issues with add-on Developers.

It does not work for the dev version anymore, unfortunately.

how do you create a regional newspaper?

Non-showing of Embassy Flags

This problem still seems to be with us. My region Doll Guldur has established over 70 embassies but only 2 show (non-scrolling, therefore) so is there a problem with my region or NS?

Did anyone figure this out? NS++ doesn't seem to show me the option to create a newspaper when I go under controls.

NS++ Glitches

In NS++, it appears that the region/world selector to show what your best stats are in each (i.e. Trout fishing is .5 in world but 5 in region) is on top of the the actual stats. Also, the challenge bar in my nation homepage seems to be invisible. HELP.

Is NS++ currently broken? None of the features have been working for me since Tuesday, except for the RMB.

you need to get your add-on signed by Mozilla so people with the latest version of firefox - firefox quantum - can install and use it.

The add-on signing policy predates Quantum by perhaps a year. I don't think NS++ is getting signed. Use a fork of Firefox that doesn't require that, use Developer/Nightly Edition, or use a completely different browser.

NS++ Issues.

Hello.
I've been having some issues with the NS++ Chrome extension recently. I'll list them down below.

1. I cannot change my regional founder or delegate title, as it says I am not authorized to do so, even though I am the founder and I have had more than 3 days and 11 hours of executive power.

2. My NS++ settings wont open. I do not know the cause for this.

3. My recruitment campaigns wont work. For some reason, when i click on "Create Recruitment Campaign" it does nothing. The page doesnt reload, nor does it open a new tab.

Hola,

I am supposed to be developing instructions for my OpenStreetMap server today, but in response to this, I have instead been attempting to recreate the “intrusive advertisement” problem on Safari 11.0.2 and Waterfox 56.0.1 for macOS Sierra 10.12.6. I've used the freshest install of NS++.

My investigation has discovered that the problem always occur when I visit the regions of The East Pacific and The Internationale. The function that causes the relocation of the ads is function ‘handleRMBAds’ in region.js, line 74.

It does not appear in my region (Minoa), or any of the regions that Minoa, The East Pacific or The Internationale have embassies with. I therefore have good reason to believe that there is something shady in the code if these two regions are the only affected.

Has anyone experienced the “intrusive advertisement” problem in any region other than The East Pacific and The Internationale?

Extra: I do not know if the original developer Afforess is really ‘Delete on Sight’? If the user really is, then I cannot legally contact them for an explanation.

Yeah, he's DOS.

In this case we have a bit of trouble in finding the explanation about why it appears that TEP and The Internationale, and only TEP and The Internationale, were affected by the intrusive adverts. A further check was made on regions with more than 250 nations, and none of them, other than the two regions named, had the scrolling ad problem.

Unfortunately, I have limited (time) resources at this time to dig deeper into the code to find exactly what is causing the problem, but something doesn't seem right.

I too am having this issue with recruitment campaigns as well, as is the officer I also assigned a recruiters. Did some sort of update or something mess up the recruitment feature? is anyone else having this problem?

Yep, and from what I can tell, basically every other NS++ feature is also currently broken except for infinitely-scrolling RMB.

RIP. Is there anyone working on fixing that?

I don't know if this has been reported yet, but my puppet sets keeps getting deleted. I have to remake them every time. :/

I've taken a quick look at the css, and it looks like the sticking advert is the result of a problem with the offset of the "filler" div - which the location of the ad is based on. When you click 'X More' under the dispatches pinned on TI and TEP's WFEs, the ad fills a space in the middle of them and then stops following you down the page. It seems that this space is the 'filler' div and when it's display:none because of the number of dispatches, the offset causes an error with the ad. I'm still not sure why it only happens with TEP and TI, though.

Another thing to look at is that whenever the ad is moved, the footer (with Max's book links) is also given a position:fixed. Maybe take a look at showFooterLink() in line 779 of region.js?
