Nation name release!

I do not disagree with the current nation's cap but rather the term for its reuse! 5 years is terribly long and by that time, I don't know if I'll even probably have kids?

Please I want to enjoy this game before I marries lol!!

Nothing is stopping you from playing the game. You're playing it now with Laneige, so what possible restriction on playing the game is caused by this ruling?

Many, many people have nations they've been playing for 5 years or more. People leave the game for a while and return. Some have puppet nations they only bring into play occasionally. The purpose of this ruling is to allow inactive players or nations a chance to retain their history upon their return, not to allow the gratuitous recycling of names.

I have plans for my nations I hoard. I actually got the first step of it done today-gather all the flags I used to use for my now dead nations. Later today or tomorrow when boredom sets in I will start with resurrecting and region making and such.

I actually forgot the password for Norway... i changed it for some reason, would it be possible to just release Norway? I wont go for it i already have this nation, I'm asking for it to be released at anytime i don't care if it's ten years just so it's in use in the game.

Don't even announce it in the boneyard just randomly release it some day for some lucky newcomer, instead of someone that's been watching the boneyard page for several months.

That password is the proof that you own the nation in the first place. Without that proof, any request 'on behalf' of that nation is moot. If what you say is true, Norway will remain CTE. Since it's well over the size limit, it looks like it won't be going back in rotation any time soon.

I actually wanted to roleplay the country of my heritage and my favorite country for once. But they're being hoarded and left to root as we speak. T.T

If it was actually yours, all you need is the old password or email address. Use the Forgot Password link on the login page if you need it.

If it wasn't yours and you just want the name (which, judging by IP records, is likely the case), sorry.

I'm not sure if this has been prior suggested, but would it be technically possible to add an option in the nation's settings that when selected, if the nation CTEs, causes the name to be up for reuse a lot sooner than the current 5 years (and regardless of population, perhaps?)

Wait so um it is possible to know what nations someone owns? For admins at least I suppose. I assume through ip's? Does it only work with alive nationss, or all nations dead or alive, or based on how long ago it was last logged on to?

Just a wondering, I have a list and all but just, well was wondering.

Also I love your flag. You are nice and the bestest, well except for Aqua maybe... I would make some rhyme bout you but I suck at those

My understanding is that mods can 'tag' nations as belonging to individuals. Just like the system knows when someone is multi-ing, I'm sure it's possible to use more than the IP to detect ownership.

True, but in this specific case, the clue came from the post itself. "I own the name New Arcturas (among Arcturus Novus." Sometimes detective work is easier than others.

As a rule, no. This is particularly true for mass-puppeteers like yourself. If you want 1000+ nations, it's up to you to keep track of them.

I was wondering if the nation name of Gondor could be released? Gondor was last active in March of 2003. That's about 10 years ago. I don't think there's any chance of it being restored.

Sorry, no. The rules of nation name release are published in the OP, and they are run programatically, not by mods checking over a list somewhere. Individual nation names cannot be released manually. You'll just have to wait until [violet] decides the rules need expansion.

Indeed, would like to know as well. There are a fair amount of nations that, while over 250 million in population, have not been logged on for near of a decade.
