Suggestion: Add URL tag to the RMB?

Suggestion: Add URL tag to the RMB?

Hello,
I have been mulling this over for a while now.
Right now, my region is battling over an anthem. We have posted links to each of our suggestions. However, it has become a hassle (especially on the iPhone) to copy and paste the link, then wait for it to load.
I am wondering if it was possible to add the URL tag to the RMB. I know that it is possible in the World Factbook Entry, but I think it would be helpful to a lot of people if it was also able to be used in the RMB as well.
Suggestions?

Time and again I've been irritated by the lack of any links bar forum ones. When borrowing an iPad due to a lack of computer I found the horrors of other people posting their maps, and me being unable to reach them. I, with my vast sway and influence over admins, endorse this idea.

So then the Mods would have to police all of the RMBs, as well, for links of "forbidden" types? Somehow I don't see this idea as likely to get approved...

Those can be given anyway, just not in URL form.

Not in URL form = less likely to be clicked on.

(I'm fairly sure that I can remember this idea being raised in the past, and a Mod making the same arguments that I'm giving here, maybe before Uni started his list...)

Sorry, I don't put much stock in that argument, Bears. Players can post links already, making them hyperlinked via a url tag isn't going to create an illegal link crime wave.

There is a report button for individual RMB posts, yes? It wouldn't mean policing every RMB.

It could perhaps be limited to WA nations, or an optional setting in the regional control panel. You could even just limit it to a safe site list. Youtube, news sites, image hosts.

Many other online games seem to manage just fine.

If advertising is a big concern, then tie it to an influence level to prevent new spam puppets.

Founders could also suppress unsavory posts, unless they're in on it.

I do believe you can, but you cant add a name to that URL, like on the WFE or here on the forums.

I also realized another reason for the need of the URL tag on the RMB.
Some links end up being too long to put on the RMB as a post. So, it's sometimes a problem in my region to announce new amendments on the floor to be voted on.
I think that the URL tag might be able to fix this problem... I hope. :unsure:

Moderators already have to police RMBs otherwise there wouldn't an option when you click on time it was posted to report it.
