Thanks everyone!

I'm honored to have the opportunity to serve as an Issues Editor. I'm sure I'll make mistakes, and I'll do my best to learn from them when they occur.

I have a bad habit of being overly serious at times, especially in new situations. So, I'm counting on you all to poke me when required to keep me lively! (just not in my eyes)

Many new issues, which will add plenty of new topics to issue-players. Contests can also sometimes draw our attention to potential future editors -- including those who may not use the forums.

The addition of Candensia and Verdant Haven in no way diminishes the contest.

We had a discussion about expanding the team, and holding another contest, a month or two back. The end result was we felt that both Candensia and Verdant Haven were worth approaching straight away - we'd already seen enough to offer them a trial, and there was no point waiting to see if they entered the Contest. We also decided to make Contests an annual affair, for several reasons - they drive interest in issues, get us a lot of promising submissions to work with (more than would otherwise be submitted in the month), help identify potential new Editors, and also offer a chance to give more recognition to authors.

As editors, we often receive questions about macros, the little bits of code that you can add to an issue to mention a nation's major industry, or berate the nation's leader by name, or ensure that all those random people in the issues are addressed by their preferred pronouns. However, the current list of macros in our FAQ was in need of an update. To address this, we have now added some additional information to the list of macros so that you can write issues with even more syntactical precision.

If anything is confusing, please let us know so that we can make adjustments.

Ahh... I need to update this into the OP of the Megathread, then! Will have to compare and merge it. ^^

On another note, I'm sorry if this isn't the place to ask here - I can create a thread but it might be a bit desolate - anyway, when we can expect the other two stats to be out of the Beta? Generosity and Ease of Commute, namely. More here.
