The recent raid on Japan, allegedly because of "transphobia" is an unjustified witch hunt by raiders, who wish to slander our good name.

Japan is a region built on diplomacy and liberty. For years, we have made an effort to be a welcoming region, accepting basically all but the most extremist of embassy requests, and accepting regional membership from practically ANY ideology. Japan has even sent defenders to engage in liberations of regions such as Belgium, The Embassy, The Arab League, and others.

Now, we face a witch hunt, where everything we have strived to accomplish is being wiped-away in the name of cherry-picked posts, in order to slander and demonise us. We are being granted no justice, and our words are being silenced in favour of raiders, who are showing us a kangaroo court, simply to justify destroying our region for fun.

Not only have these raiders stolen our region from us, they have spat in our faces, and slandered our good names. They combed for obscure posts, in order to portray us as evil bigots, in contrast to our diplomatic and civil aims. Many members of the government of Japan are even ready to leave NS entirely, because we are sick of this disrespect.

These raiders should not be seen as "heroes, smashing bigots"; they should be seem as bullies that destroy regions.

On its own, it's pretty bad, don't kid yourself. Your leader made it well known they were a bigot, over the course of at least 4 years, and you all were clearly okay with it. If you wanna prove me wrong and show what sort of pushback he got, feel free.

your region's most prominent leader is extremely bigoted, and the general community conduct is deeply inappropriate. i'm not sure if you realize that and are trying to save face/garner support, or if you are just choosing to remain in denial of it, but all of the information has been collated for public access and you can't write it away as demonization. the ns community does not tolerate problematic behavior, nor does it tolerate bigotry. every region which exhibits problematic or bigoted behavior must either be fixed or destroyed, and the japan native community has made it very clear that they're not willing or able to fix things. and so your region will be destroyed. PRAF doesn't make serious accusations lightly. all of the evidence is there, and this is the natural response to it.

I don't know if you understand the breadth of what warranted the DnD. Please acquire the full logs including the discord content, consider their contents, and very seriously consider what you're defending.

That just proves that it IS cherry-picking. You are picking specific posts, most of which are years old, without paying attention to more important posts, most of which actually paint a much different picture.

In our Diet, for example, in 2020, we actually had debates about a new delegate, so that Stratus could retire. The reason nothing passed was more an issue of pragmatism. In fact, his retirement hasn't happened specifically because he has more influence, and because we didn't have any obvious successors in order to hold an election.

Like I said, if you want to argue this is all Stratus being problematic and the rest of you are innocent, just show us the pushback he got. If this happened over the course of 4 years, there should be plenty of evidence of him being called out for his behavior and challenged.

I would rather not chime in here but will for the sake of the casual observer.

Defenders take do-not-defend requests seriously, as they are typically of OOC nature. Ultimately every organization makes its own individual decision to defend or not defend.

That said, even if raiders had cherry picked what they’ve brought up, that wouldn’t have bearing on the preeminent defender conclusion. We do our own thorough investigations when these things come up. That’s what we did.

As a result, while I can only speak definitively for the LDF, the vast majority of defender organizations, if not all, seem to have decided against defending Japan, and for good reason. That’s really all I wanted to just get on record.

edit: also, it's absurd to call this "cherrypicking" when it's two entire albums worth of extensive screenshots + corroboration from multiple different groups which would have no ic-reason to confirm the accusations if they weren't entirely true

You could offer up a better defense, then. If you want to ignore the off-site content, which you will likely have to address eventually, then how about doing what I suggested, and show some proof that the rest of you offered some sort of pushback against your delegate's many statements? As it stands, it looks like you were all nodding in agreement, which really weakens your "cherry picking to demonize us" argument.

Good to see another evil region be purged. I cannot help but chuckle when seeing the comment made in one of the threads about EmbassyRegionia. The raid on ER was truly one of the most interesting times in NationStates, and to think that one of the reasons Japan is being raided is quite similar is quite funny.

I also would like to thank raiders for choosing a DND region to raid. Forcing defenders to choose between ending the evil region that is Confederacy of Layem and saving an innocent region would be cruel and unfair.

Apparently (can't remember where I read this) that is being considered, however its probably too hard to enforce
I think the idea rn is that it gets refounded as a monument to the country with a contact dispatch or something in case someone wants to do something with it

As a former native that moved out a while back do to complications with raiding stuff maybe I can retire from raiding and be Japan's new delegate for a while.. make Japan great again!

Even if Japan did something bad, I don't know if I should upset or amazed that you chose to raid this region while most defenders are still in Layem.
