Tinhampton wrote:the question I'd be asking is whether there actually was an "annual invader tradition of occupying Christmas" in the first place - I can't remember any but then I'm a child of August 2016

And I myself am a child of January 2021 :p

But yes, there's a history of the region being contested every year since its founder ceased to exist in 2008, as attested by Sedge here. It got mainstream attention when Asgard raided it in 2012 and the SC Liberation was passed to remove its password. Since then, there's been an attempt to raid it ever year around Christmas/New Year's Eve by pretty much every raider org out there.

Minor formatting query re your three bulleted lists. In two of them the first word in the bullet point is not capitalised, in the other they are. It’s a small inconsistency - use one or the other, but not both?

Oops, that was a mistake. Should be fixed now.

Guess and Check wrote:Well-written, good luck with it!! ^-^

Minor feedbak:
Would replace "their term" with "Karp's term" in the Praising clause, simply because "their" could refer to SDF and could confuse someone until they realize it means Karp

"successes" would be better as "success" in the acknowledging clause. In same clause, would remove "together" as "cooperate" already implies togetherness.

I'm running out of character space here, but I'll consider this. Thanks!

Goes without saying at this point, but full support for this draft and its deserving nominee. I have tried to locate issues with the proposal's construction, but it all looks fine to my eyes within personal stylistic preferences.

Wish it the best.

This is now at last call. If you've got anything to critique, speak now or forever hold your peace.

We plan to submit this within next week, as soon as some RL stuffs are sorted out.

Against because Karputsk removed my Executive Chef de Cuisine role on Libcord. It had a really pretty color and now I'm sad.

I continue to be strongly opposed due to the nominee. Additionally, I think the choice of the nation that'll be used to submit this is rather unprofessional.

Entirely opposed to this since Karp used to be a bear. That's right, a bear.

European residents have expressed their dislike of campaign telegram spam. This is for various reasons: telegrams being annoying and, more impactfully, that World Assembly resolutions should not turn into a question of who can cut the biggest cheque. They authorised me and the Government to take action to disincentivise it in the Telegrams (World Assembly) Act 2016.

An all-WA telegram was just sent asking member nations to vote against this resolution. I have voted for it, in accordance with historical European policy – see section 2(a)(ii) of the Telegrams (World Assembly) Act 2016 (also sub nom World Assembly Accord on Campaign Spam) – against these kind of campaigns. But for that telegram, I would have abstained in this matter.

I'm not sure that it is. Perhaps you're alluding to your comments earlier in the thread, which were debunked.

It objectively is! WALL and The North Polish Union (see spoiler below), a native of Slavia, have already raised perfectly valid concerns about the nominee's commendability with most all WA members.

It can be argued that Karputsk is indeed commendable when considering the contents of the proposal at hand. However, other considerations have swayed our decision. The FRA made an enemy out of Europeia. To this end, Karputsk participated in operations to subvert and undermine Europeia whilst serving in the FRA, For instance, Karputsk served as a Cabinet member during their infiltration activities and had access to sensitive information, leading to a significant breach in Europeia's regional security. More significant, however, was their complicity in a plan to use Europeia as a means to subvert and eliminate their allies before ultimately pushing us into the defender bloc. As a matter of principle, we cannot support a commendation of someone who has participated in such subversive activity against our own region.

Hi,

I'm telegramming you because of World Assembly proposal to Commend Karputsk. This proposal attempts to make the case that Karputsk deserves a commendation for his work in various defender organizations.

Unfortunately, although the things the proposal does include is technically true, it omits many of the less-than-desirable actions taken by Karputsk over the years and thus does not provide an accurate picture of Karputsk's activities on NS.

For example, while the proposal mentions several successful defenses and diplomatic actions that Karputsk assisted in, it omits entirely any mention of the events in Slavia.

Up until late 2013, Slavia was a member region of the Founderless Regions Alliance (FRA), and at this time Karputsk was the FRA's Arch-Chancellor (head). At the end of 2013, Slavia decided to withdraw and notified the FRA of this, but the FRA refused to acknowledge the withdrawal. Shortly afterwards in January 2014, Slavia was raided by the United Imperial Armed Forces (UIAF), which was at war with the FRA at the time. After a month-long occupation of Slavia by the UIAF, an FRA-led operation in February 2014 ousted the UIAF delegate and seized that position for itself.

This began the FRA occupation of Slavia (which again, occurred under Karputsk's administration). In spite of the presence of a sizable native community and over their objections, the FRA continued to occupy Slavia until April 2014, when native control was finally restored. This meant that Karputsk's raid on Slavia lasted about 3 times as long as the UIAF occupation.

In spite of this shocking legacy, there are still those that wish to see Karputsk commended.

What I'm asking you to do today is to go and vote AGAINST "Commend Karputsk". Tell the WA that such nations are not deserving of commendations!

If you have any questions, feel free to telegram me.
