OOC: Also, how does it mandate massive surveillance when it never says the cameras have to be turned on? It certainly presents an opportunity for it but to argue it mandates it completely flies in the face of earlier criticisms lobbed at my resolution that you expressed agreement with.

OOC: Fine, it either mandates massive surveillance system that makes people less likely to approach police with tip-offs as they'll be caught on camera, or it mandates lots of money wasted for no good reason whatsoever. Neither option is good.

OOC: I was under the impression that the illegality wouldn’t have been announced on the proposal itself, and that the proposal would’ve just been discarded at the end of voting even if it technically passed.

EDIT again: I presume that because the decision supposedly came out just a few hours before the voting period ended, no mod was on to use their Discard feature - which isn't a big deal in the long run, given that the proposal failed. One must wonder what would happen at this point, if the proposal had passed.

Condemn Civil Defence Siren was mod-discarded immediately after getting to vote but it was never classed as actually being discarded after voting ended, if that helps.
